Arnarstapi, Iceland. After dinner in Hellnar, we walked an hour into Arnarstapi along a coastal trail. Incredible! Lots of great sights even as light diminished. Since sun didn't;t set until after 10 p.m., we were pretty comfortable even without a flashlight. Snaefellsnes, Iceland.

Single SB900 bounced vertically off the ceiling, positioned about 5ft from Ruth. Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens; tripod mounted etc. White door used as backdrop. Post in Photoshop. NB: Appearance of skin tones will depend on the quality of your monitor.

This is a self-portrait I took late one night in my room. A tripod and the self-timer was used. I set the camera up, adjusting the manual settings, turned out all the lights, and hit the self-timer. The light came from a flashlight positioned on a stack of pillows to my right.
