Shot in full daylight with Nikon D700 and Sigma 105mm macro lens.
Manual exposure, lit with 230 lumen flashlight.
The flashlight produces a pure white light so there's no discoloration.
The light also has a narrow beam that allows isolation of the subject.
All the flowers are just little wildflowers that grow around the grass at the ski resort where I live.
These flowers were also very small. Nothing bigger than a quarter, so all the shots are heavily cropped.
These turned out strange. I shone the strobe up from below my face, so I guess the shadow fell on my eyes.
Sept 26, 2008 @ 11:30pm - Hope all is ok - they checked out Lun with the flashlight briefly. She then continued nursing her widdle prince. Seems all is well.
Don't know why this was called that. This was taken while my Aunt and family were in Peoria from California. It was before I was born. My mother is on the left and my father in the white shirt with his arms folded.
Single SB900 bounced vertically off the ceiling, positioned about 5ft from Ruth. Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens; tripod mounted etc. White door used as backdrop. Post in Photoshop. NB: Appearance of skin tones will depend on the quality of your monitor.
Styling by Ruth L
Because I'm shooting Ruth L quite often now (she loves modelling for the camera and has a lot of creative ideas of her own) I've started a set, just for shots of her:
