I was standing just beside this massive rabbit brush bush, a plant I am particularly fond of, since it is present year-round in some fashion in Badlands National Park. Something was hissing from the middle of the bush, which turned out to be a beetle (no doubt of a prehistoric variety) who was disturbed by my flashlight.
For about 30 minutes I had the light of the moon to partially light the landscape and later passing traffic obliged.
During my stay, several meteors flashed overhead including one extremely bright one that broke into 4 pieces. As luck would have it, except for a few faint ones, they were all just outside my field of view. We are in the Perseid meteor shower period, which will peak August 12-13, although most of these did not appear to originate at the Perseus radiant point and were most likely sporadics, which are common to see in our area.
(47/365) For Macro Mondays theme "hard light" and 119 pictures in 2019 #73 "Marbles", this is a shot of some small blue marbles lit by a small LED flashlight held about 6" (2m) away. I think that was sufficient to produce the hard shadows I was after. The image width is about two inches.
Suddenly he came out of the darkness and I had just enough tlme to turn on the flashlight on my mob.phone. After the third shot he went into the darkness.

Santa brought me a new flashlight, or torch, depending on your local. Lit with a single constant LED.

Small sieve I use for sifting icing sugar. Used the Olympus Live Capture feature - taken in a dark room while I added light with a small flashlight and the reflections of the angled light made the bokeh balls.

For macro Monday’s theme “wavy lines”. I didn’t bring a ruler, so I took a photo of me holding the item and placed it in the first comment box. Okay, I’m in Punta Cana! We arrived yesterday so yeah, I’ll take photos to share later but probably won’t be on Flickr much this week. Oh, and if you zoom in, you’ll see a glimpse of me and our hotel room. In this mine it`s totally dark , so i have light painted with a flashlight
It is a wonderful feeling to walk around down in the underground and look at the beautiful ice and the old remains from the time when the mine was in operation. This place is totalt dark, so i have light paiinting it with a flashlight.
