THE INVASION OF CLERMONT-FERRAND
The first (two?) invasion wave(s) of the center of Clermont-Ferrand occured in the year 2000 and consisted 8 space invaders, 4 of them are still there (including 1 re-activation) and flashable.
In January 2016 Clermont-Ferrand was invaded again, the 3rd invasion wave took place:
"At the occasion of the screening of the very last version of the movie Art4Sspace at the Interntional Short Film Festival of Clermont-Ferrand, I have added 31 new creations to the city of the center of France. Among various themes, they refer to movies and cinema but also to what Clermont Ferrand is famous for : its gothic cathedrale, its volcanos, its Michelin factories and its Serge Gainsbourg street" (Invader)

Second Best "52 Weeks Project"
Since I have been joining the 52 Weeks Project on Flickr it has happened several times that I had to chose between two or more self portraits that week. A difficult choice. The solution is to create a set of all good alternatives. Life is full of choices and sometimes a week has too much opportunities. This is one of those alternatives, the second best. And sometimes just as good.

As far as I remember and hunt on space invaders in Paris and beyond (the year 2005) I have seen only seen this space invader for more than 35 percent destroyed. Not flashable on the online game smartphone application FlashInvaders untill June 2015 when of the space invader fans in Paris restored PA_312 and made it 'flashable' again. A perfect job with exactly the same tiles (color, size, material). Two reasons for this revisit: to see this one in full glory and in order to win 10 points in the FlashInvaders game.

In total 4 new flashable space invaders in Rotterdam since July 28th. Thanks to the re-activation team two totally new (re-activated) space invaders for me and two flashable ones.
This one is located in between the neighbourhoods Oude Westen and Middelland in Rotterdam West.
I went there for the first time within 2 days after re-activation but came back for a better photo with more sunlight. The express road S100 is diving under this one.

THE INVASION OF ROTTERDAM
In the year 2001 the city of Rotterdam has been invaded by Invader. It was the 8th city in the world being invaded. In 4 days Invader put 26 space invaders (1 hidden bonus) on the walls of Rotterdam. Sometimes hidden sometimes on very visible locations. As we speak (*September2019) about 21 of 26 space invaders are there. Fifteen of them due to the work of the re-activations. Seven of them are still the original space invaders of 2001 put up by Invader.

From 24/06/2022 till 08/01/2023 Invader had an exhibition in the Nima Museum in Bruxelles (Molenbeek Saint-Jean) under the titel Invader Rubikcubist. For this occasion, Invader has placed two new space invaders on the outside of the museum. His second invasion wave in Brussels since 2012. A total of 80 extra points for the city of Brussels.

On the night of February 19th, Invader added four space invaders in Paris. A striking detail is that these four (PA_1556 through PA_1559) use a new type of mosaic tile with a slightly curved front. I'm posting these four in the order I visited and flashed them. I came to Paris on the beautiful sunny day of February 25th to photograph these four in good lighting conditions. PA_1557, however, will never experience direct sunlight. It's located near Pont Neuf.

This yellow ground invader has recently been re-activated again by one the many re-activators. This type of space invader has to endure a lot of wear and tear from all the public that walks over it every day. Unlike my first visit in 2020, all the tiles are still in place.

One of the special Olympic space invader pieces Invader put up in Paris during the Olympics of 2024. This one is very visibly located along the Seine right below Hôtel de Ville which is an official location during the Olympiad. Unfortunately this one did not stay very long. But a lot of people have enjoyed this one.

The first space invader of the third wave of Invader in Marseille I encountered almost one year after invasion. Till August 2020 I found and flashed all 13 space invaders of wave 1 (MARS_01 - MARS_11 - 2004 and wave 2 (MARS_12 and MARS_13). But during wave 3 in August 2020 the number of space invaders went up to 97. In total 84 space invaders on my list again. This MARS_75 was the first, on the station where I arrived by Thalys from Amsterdam. There was overcast when I took this photo, doesn't happen that much in Summer in Marseille.

A new big green camo invader appeared in the 13ème arrondissement of Paris in the park near des grands moulins. I was lucky to be able to visit this one with a blue sky right before the early winter sunset.
This is located on a lift shaft to give (disabled) people the opportunity to reach the passerelle above the park.

PA_128 [10 points]
One yellow 'runner' in the 11ème arrodnissement came back as a result of a succeeded re-activation. I have never seen the original of this one in person. The fountain is Fontaine de Charonne (1724).

PA_161 [20 points]
The 161th space invader in Paris and the 164th space in the world. One month before Invader installed this orange invader with mirror eyes he installed it's first two international space invaders in Antwerpen and number one in Lille (autoroute A1) before returning to Paris.

A very high above the ground (8th floor!) double black and white space invader. Another space invader worth 100 points in the same street installed in 2016 (the other one is PA_1205, "house is in da house").
Visited on the perfect moment of the day, the early morning.
This huge project was number 3378 in the world made by Invader.

A space invader on a very busy location. Never seen the original of this one but thanks to the splendid work of the Re-activation team this gradient space invader is back in the 14ème arrondissement in Paris. Visible, capturable and flashable. But mind the traffic here!

PA_273 [20 points]
The 273rd Space Invader in Paris was declared almost dead because of the months-long presence of scaffolding agains the facade of this building. To my great joy I saw that the scaffolding was removed and the space invader was still present. At the time of my 'revisit' the Paris Fire Department (Pompiers de Paris) were there to resque. Not sure what was going on, nothing serious (I hope). PA_273 is not dead, deleted or damaged. It's still in good condition and flashable (FlashInvaders)

A good example of a re-activated space invader I forgot to revisit for a FlashInvaders treatment. Done when I was walking from PA_942 to the métro station. A piece of Seth was a real bonus!
