Just flashed my 1503th space invader here...
Location: Place Rhin-et-Danube, Paris 19ème, France.
Coordinates: Click on the link to see the exact location where this photo was taken:
Reason: During my 908th découcher (overnight) in Paris my mission was to visit this space invader which I never flashed before. And that while this is already the third PA_984 after being removed from the wall twice.
PA_984: The original space invader was installed by Invader on 15/05/2011/ It was in 2011 the 2539th space invader of the world made by Invader. Deleted in 2014/2015. First re-activation took place in 2017 and this was deleted in 2021. This version number 3 of PA_984 and finally flashed by me.

FlashInvaders: This my 1503th space invader flashed since I joined this online game which already has more than 293 thousand players and over 18 million space invaders have been flashed. In total I scored 43,830 points and when this photo was taken I was ranked 790th of 293,000plus which is not that bad at all. This PA_984 was my 1250th space invader in Paris I flashed out of the 1485 space invaders in Paris (April 2023).
Place Rhin-et-Danube: Place Rhin-et-Danube is a square in the 19ème arrondissement of Paris in the quartier Amérique. Metro line 7bis has a station on this square; station Danube.

This one I was forgotten to flash ever since I started with the online game FlashInvaders (as we speak -September 2022- more than 250.000 players and more than 15 million flashes made). This one is a bit hidden away in an alley but well seen from the street.

A re-activation of a space invader of which I have never seen the original. The original location is right at the other side of the street (PA_42 by Tofz4u). Sometimes it's better to have a good reactivation than one at the exact location. There is hope for a lot space invaders to be re-activated.

E.T. phones home at the ESA establishment where Earth observation satellite data is received and analysed at ESA’s ESRIN Earth observation centre near Rome, Italy.
French artist Invader is installing his art at ESA establishments around Europe and even on the International Space Station.
ESA has been monitoring Earth with its environmental satellites since the 1970s, keeping a constant watch over our planet by analysing satellite data to protect our environment.
The first space invader mosaic art was found by ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti during her mission on the International Space Station. She installed ‘Space2’ in Europe’s Columbus space laboratory. Since then, space-themed art has appeared at the European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany, at our Redu Centre in Belgium, our space operations centre in Germany and ESA’s technical heart in the Netherlands, and it even took over our headquarters in Paris, France.

This invader attracts a lot of attention, you don't see Nina Simone every day! The tour guide in the picture was explaining the phenomenon space invaders and is a player of FlashInvaders as well (like more than 137,000 as we speak, 31/07/2020).

One of the most succesdful space invader hunters on this planet (JOETHECRAB_1, rank #06, 1340 space invaders seen and flashed, 39430 points on 27/07/2016) was willing to strike a pose in front of this new invader less than one day after invasion.

This one is the first of a series of CryptoPunks mosaïcs made by Invader. CryptoPunks is a non-fungible token (NFT) collection on the Ethereum blockchain. The project was launched in June 2017 by the Larva Labs studio, a two-person team consisting of Canadian software developers Matt Hall and John Watkinson. The experimental project was inspired by the London punk scenes, the cyberpunk movement, and electronic music artists Daft Punk. There are 10,000 unique CryptoPunks (6,039 male and 3,840 female), all of which are made digitally scarce through the use of blockchain technology. Each one was algorithmically generated through computer code and thus no two characters are exactly alike, with some traits being rarer than others.
But this Cryptopunk PA_1478 is not a NFT anymore! He stands now on a façade in Paris, just above the place where New Rose, the legendary records shop and label was. [ # Invaderwashere ]

A low outlined space invader of the late ninetees of which I have never seen the original before. Because the street has been raised, the re-activated space invader had to be adjusted and misses half of the tiles. A blue Pac Man in the 3ème arrondissement of Paris. I have never seen the original of this videogame invader, we are looking towards a successful re-activation of the 29th space invader in Paris.
Dogs and space invaders, will they ever respect eachother?

MARS_34 [40 points]
The last space invader during this stay in Marseille. In total I flashed 46 new space invaders (worth 1710 points on FlashInvaders). This invader is located in the market area of Marseille and it shows.
Till August 2020 I found and flashed all 13 space invaders of wave 1 (MARS_01 - MARS_11 - 2004 and wave 2 (MARS_12 and MARS_13). But during wave 3 in August 2020 the number of space invaders went up to 97. In total 84 space invaders on my list again.

Quai d'Orsay: The Quai d'Orday is a quay in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It is part of the left bank of the Seine opposite the Place de la Concorde.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs is located on the Quai d'Orsay, between the Esplanade des Invalides and the National Assembly at the Palais Bourbon, and thus the ministry is often called the Quai d'Orsay by metonymy. The building containing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was built between 1844 and 1855 by Jacques Lacornée. The statues of the facade were created by the sculptor Henri de Triqueti (1870). The Treaty of Versailles (1919) was negotiated and written at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The quai d'Orsay has a length of 1270. meters and a width of 29 meters.
Weather: Mostly sunny, almost sunset, 15° C

The first space invader I "flashed" after the lockdown in Paris. It couldn't be more topical than this. 2020 is the year of the pandemic and Invader was also in lockdown from mid-March to 11 May.

RBA_17 [40 points]
In the spring of 2017, 20 space invaders were placed in the Moroccan capital in four days (15/03/2017 to 18/03/2017), of which there are currently (* August 2025) 9 left. My score is 8/20 as we didn't know the location of RBA_14 during our hunt.
This RBA_17 is a space invader in an iconic location with Tour Hassan in the background. Tour Hassan is the minaret of an incomplete mosque in Rabat, Morocco. It was commissioned by Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur, the third caliph of the Almohad Caliphate, near the end of the 12th century. The tower was intended to be the largest minaret in the world, and the mosque, if completed, would have been the largest in the western Muslim world. When al-Mansur died in 1199, construction on the mosque stopped. The minaret was left standing at a height of 44 meters.

The online game FlashInvaders forces me to visit space invaders again in neigbhourhoods I don't visit very often like this corner in the 13ème arrondissement. It was almost 10 years ago I was here and I must say that this space invader hasn't changed that much. This original space invader is still in good shape.
