I was just shooting some test shots with the new camera and flash and just liked this photo of Danny.

I'm using one light source; sometimes, a little bit of the backlight through the windows is visible. Experiment with the distance of the light and the object. I thought it was super complicated to shoot with flash, but it's not too hard to get the first promising results. Just take your time and have fun! Enjoy the process; there is so much to learn!

hahaha what a padh sometimes.
i loathe using the regular flash on IS {my camera}, but i have to sometimes. so many pictures from this came out blurry no matter how still i held my hands or how still a&b were, it's really heartbreaking sometimes:(
Didn't know gourds could be used as laser guns, did you? (I hear they can also be used for unforgivably bad puns, but I wouldn't know.)
Got my first DSLR for my birthday and was just experimenting with lighting and stuff. This is our dog Flash Gordon!
We ended up testing some flashsetups at work. Three flashes used. The model is a really famous and talented noiseartist from Croatia(Zagreb), Miggy Cakes www.flickr.com/mikkomiettinen. Thanks Miggy!
I never use the flash on my camera because it looks so horrible. So I was experimenting tonight with a piece of white cardboard held at an angle in front of my pop-up flash, to angle the light off the ceiling and make it less harsh.
These are some of the results. I'd say it's reasonably successful, especially for free. The cardboard piece has a strip of Velcro around it, so I just wrap it around the flash housing and it holds it in place. Doesn't look very classy, though.
I thought about using the sb-900 here, but came to my senses. Not every shot needs to light up the face. I think if I had lit their faces, it would have taken something away from the shot.
Para utilizar el flash y evitar que el golpe de luz fuera demasiado fuerte se colocó el carnet de la Universidad frente al mismo, así la luz rebotaría. Podemos apreciar que el Flash rellena la imagen donde faltaba la luz sin la necesidad de dejar esa sensación de luz demasiado dura.
