On a sunny January morning.
Bingley Five-Rise Locks is a staircase lock on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in West Yorkshire. Any boat passing through the lock is lifted or lowered in five stages.
The five-rise opened in March 1774 and was a major feat of engineering at the time. When the locks and therefore the canal from Gargrave to Thackley was opened in 1774 a crowd of 30,000 people turned out to celebrate. The first boat to use the locks took just 28 minutes. The smaller Bingley three-Rise opened at the same time just a few hundred yards downstream.
The five-rise is the steepest flight of locks in the UK, with a gradient of about 1:5 (a rise of 60 (18 m) over a distance of 320 ft (98 m)). The intermediate and bottom gates are the tallest in the country. Because of the complications of working a staircase lock, and because so many boaters are inexperienced, a full-time lock keeper is employed, and the locks are padlocked out of hours.

Composing this picture wasn't so easy as it was taken with 400 mm. I'm quite happy how it turned out. The point of interest are the five fir trees.

The High Five Interchange in Dallas is where US-75 and I-635 meet just north of downtown. The interchange is comprised of 37 bridges that are stacked over five levels and 120 feet high.

it took a while to figure out the name of this new flower that appeared in the butterfly garden. Once I found the name, it was obvious. What else would this wildflower be named?
Its scientific name is (Nemophila Maculata) which means spotted woods-loving plant.

Title refers to the farthest coal seam out under the sea off Dawdon Colliery... (East Durham coast UK) imagine that - five miles out under the North Sea... can't really comprehend what that must have been like.
5 bears. FIVE! A mama and her four cubs today, all up in a tree (birch? cottonwood?).
NOT an everyday sighting, even in Montana,
especially in the midst of an average day of swim lessons and trips to Costco, Target, and Joann Fabrics.
Quite a spectacle, they were, of course.
The highway patrol were there asking folks to take a quick look and/or a picture and then get back in their cars and keep moving.
A few hours later, on our way back home, the numbers of cars and people had grown dramatically, many with tripods and big long lenses.
They're hoping the bears will all come down after dark and go on their merry way.

There is a section between Brindleyplace and Five Ways tram stops where the pantograph is raised to the overhead wires, but lowered again before going through the Five Ways underpass.

E una domenica da me, a riprovare a farli insieme questi macarons, giocando con la cioccolata e la crema al caffé.

A macarons workshop , I learn to work with meringue and almond flour.
A dinner in Versailles, a group of cavers, the mango crumble, I fall asleep on the couch.
An evening of games, bugs instead of mice, totems to be seized.
Trying to empty my room, trying to be ready to move.
And a Sunday at my place, trying to do together these macarons, playing with chocolate and coffee cream.

On last weeks Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk around Hertford I found out that Hertford was where the General Synod was first held back in the 7th Century (673AD), apparently it was in this meeting that the dates for Easter were established - Easter was to be held on the first Sunday following the first full moon after March 21st. The above sculpture was produced by Ronald Pope to commemorate the 13th centenary of this meeting.
