Can’t…squeeze…socks…over…stupid…black…shoes
So, I slice them down the back and reattach them with hot glue. I also used bread ties to keep the fabric together while the glue hardened. (It only took burning myself once to come up with that idea.)
Fitting that the man who made the engine famous & was even involved in one of the previous attempts to restore it is seen in the background. 1-13-19

I have progress! This is after a good three hours of tissue fitting. My, but this is a time consuming process.
On the back:
* 1/2 inch high round back adjustment, standard for me.
* 1/2 inch in a broad back adjustment, trying to bring the center back to my center back.
* 1 inch to the side back piece at the waist, ultimately eliminating the curve at the waist while retaining the same line and proportion at the hem.
On the front:
* 1 1/2 inch Full Bust Adjustment (FBA)
* 1 1/2 inch center front full bust adjustment, by slashing and spreading the piece open to add width across the bust and to the waist
* 1 inch wide waist adjustment, using the same method as used for the back
I WISH WISH WISH I had followed my instinct and done a full three inch FBA at once, because in the second tissue fit the princess seam is still about an inch and a half outside of my apex. Current concerns are that the back is still not big enough, but I plan to wait until the fabric muslin to decide whether to add more room. I am also only cautiously optimistic that the second bust adjustments will do what it needs to do. The 1 1/2 inches today worked wonders, so I have hope, but then again, this bust of mine gives me fits.

Candles on the graves of fallen Polish and Commonwealth Servicemen at the annual All Souls’ Day ceremony of Homage and Remembrance at Newark Cemetery on Sunday.
It was the first time candles had been lit in front of so many gravestones of second world war victims at the Commonwealth War Graves section of the cemetery.
They are often placed on individual graves of the 400 Polish airmen and paratroopers. This year, candles were also placed by the headstones of 90 soldiers from Commonwealth nations, who died as a result of the conflict.
Candles were placed, too, on the headstones of some of the 41 civilians who died in the Luftwaffe bombing raid on the Ransome and Marles ball-bearing factory in Newark 1941, as well as at the graves of first world war casualties.
The service, organised by Newark Town Council on behalf of the Polish Air Force Association, is based around the memorial cross dedicated to Polish airmen. It was installed in 1941 at the former grave of Polish wartime leader General Wladyslaw Sikorski.
He was buried in Newark following his death in a plane crash off Gibraltar in 1943. General Sikorski’s body was repatriated to his homeland on 14th September 1993.
A procession of guests carrying standards marched from the cemetery gates at London Road on Sunday to the war graves for a service led by Mr Simon Elmer, of the Polish Air Force Memorial Committee.
The ceremony included speeches by the chairman of the Polish Air Force Memorial Committee, Mr Richard Kornicki, and the Mayor of Newark.
Many that rest here will have known extreme heartache before their deaths. It’s fitting they should have a peaceful resting place.
The candles signify that our prayers are with them all.”
Father Krzysztof Kawczynski said prayers for fallen airmen and paratroopers before the roll of honour was read. The Last Post was played ahead of a one-minute’s silence.
Wreaths were laid at General Sikorski’s former grave.

So after the fitting (and 55 f'in dollars later), we headed down to Nordstroms Rack to get cheap, but well-fitted bras. Basically, 3 for the price of that first one. My jugs are happy riding where they are, but did get in the way a little.
Not all of that is me.. just 3/4 of it.

10 years ago I had to take the Ford van to a workshop in Birmingham to have the same thing done.
Back then it was a four hour wait after fitting for the glue to be firm enough to drive away.
Glue technology has advanced since then , so now the glue has 'set' and driving is possible after just one hour.
