Sorry about the poor picture, i think it's aged abit

About 2005 ?

My cocker spaniel was at my feet waiting for cookie crumbs to fall the whole time I shot this image.

I tried a few different ideas with it and, as usual, came back to this shot for it's simplicity.

These scans come from my rather large magazine collection. Instead of filling my house with old moldy magazines, I scanned them (in most cases, photographed them) and filled a storage area with moldy magazines. Now they reside on an external harddrive. I thought others might appreciate these tidbits of forgotten history.

Please feel free to leave any comments or thoughts or impressions... They are happily appreciated!

Sometimes, after a jug, I paint on an envelope.

As Josh observed "Bacon and eggs it is not".

My first mammogram,

and I wanted to share my experience.

I was working myself up slowly that it was going to hurt. But it was just a little smooshing, squooshing and a little pressure. It was not a big deal.

A little freaky at first, but the woman I had was calm, nice and casual, which I am sure makes all the difference in the world. I think the overall trick is just try to be realxed :)

But it is VERY important to get them done at that certain age and then regularily. If something is there then it is better to be caught early on and is more treatable early, from what I understand.

So don't forget to get your mammograms girls!

Despite the fact that El Castillo is only accessible by a 2 hour panga ride . It certainly didn't damper the pageantry of these young girls first communion .

Yesterday it was 70 degrees

We had the first snowfall of the year here last Tuesday, and this yarn was inspired by my morning walk to the post office that day - the dark contrast of the street & tree branches against the snowy whiteness, the red headlights glimmering in the distance, the misty clouds of breath, the grey skies, the last stubborn bits of green grass & weeds poking up through the blanket of snow, and the sense of stillness and wonder everywhere. I blended the fiber for this on my drum carder. I started with white and natural (undyed) brown falkland wool and added in gray falkland wool, natural chocolate brown wool and pale grey-brown wool from a small local farm, black mill end wool, shiny silvery-white tencel (a fiber made from wood pulp)/linen blend, white and red sparkle, red and brown raw rambouillet locks from a small local farm, white and brown mohair, white angora bunny fluff, shiny white bamboo, and green ecospun (a fiber made from recycled plastic bottles). I spun in big coccoons of fuzzy white mohair as I went. I also spun a little mini skein to compliment this yarn - it's spun from white falkland wool blended with the scraps from the first skein.
