As I've said previously, the PMT archive provides a mine of photographic interest, and not exclusively their own vehicles. The company's claims officer, Norman Bennett was often on hand with his camera to record other infortunate incidents. This photo represents one of the latter, the location of which was barely 100 yards from PMT HQ in Woodhouse Street, Stoke on Trent.
Blundell's Albion Victor / Duple Firefly LSB 929 was turning into Woodhouse street when it came into contact with a Jaguar car. There are a couple of other photos detailing the same incident, but this was the most complete one of the scene.
The 41 seater coach had been new in 1964 to Bowman of Craignure.

Especially miss the fireflies. I love how they immediately land on you once they make physical contact with your hand and just stay for awhile exploring.

during late spring to summer, it's time to take firefly photo. In Hong Kong it's hard to find them, many place not suitable for firefly already.. so lucky still can found one

［拍攝螢火蟲技巧］
1. 上腳架、加上快門線！
2. 光圈與iso適度搭配：光圈建議開到最大切勿小於2.8(沒有大光圈還是得去租一下)，iso最高開800。(f1.2可以開400，f2.8建議開800-1250)
3. 關掉對焦，切到手動對焦。建議使用B快門。
4. 小DC請注意關掉閃光燈(螢火蟲照光後就無法繁殖後代了)。
5. 光源複雜請、拍攝RAW檔。
6. 打開躁訊抑制除躁。

As Amos gazed through his telescope up into the heavens at the glittering stars, he also noticed some other glimmering lights in his lens. As he looked up, the air around him came alive with thousands of flickering fireflies. Just below Amos's treehouse, the rest of the forester village lies hidden deep in the green wood. The merry campfire with the lads roasting marshmallows, the rangers returning from their evening hike, and the happy camaraderie all made a pleasant atmosphere.

This lego MOC is based on the firefly variant that used the M4A4 Sherman tank as the chassis.

MOC is in 1:40th scale and still is one of my favourite ww2 tanks.
The Firefly was a modified sherman tank where the original 75mm gun was replaced with a 17 pounder anti tank gun.

Was holding on to this picture for almost a year before I felt I had enough photoshop experience to be able to get what I wanted. Its simple, but one step at a time.
Went up with a few students/friends to see if we could capture fireflies. It was a lot of fun minus the other bugs. There were swarms of bugs around every time I switched on a flashlight. I swatted a moth and my new Xenon flashlight went flying into the river. I did get it back but not without soaking my left foot first...
I also shot some film but will have to wait for those.

Finally got to processing this image, about 45 minutes of stacked images (StarStax'd). A partial moon reflecting off some of the leaves blended in with some of the firefly beeps down the trail, 'tis what it is!
To secure instant deployment, „dipteria class“ airships like the „Firefly“ could stay skybound for a month on end. The original paddlewheel-based propulsion had recently been updated with two massive 'Brickerton' engines with adjustable platinum-coated six-blade rotors, allowing for a top speed of 50 knots. Four smaller engines could, theoretically, add an additional ten knots, although their primary use was to allow for steady hovering of the vessel when in action. Nine water cannons – two of them massive with ranges of up to 250 meters, could extinguish any flame. The gargantuan water tank in the ship's hull can hold up to 400.000 liters of water, yet even this feature had been updated. A recent invention employed basic physics: Compressed air was shot out of the cannons which then condensed over the burning fire site. This not only made for less water spillage but also drastically reduced weight and power consumption, thereby increasing speed, range and duration of deployment.
To effectively and safely operate in smoke-filled dizzying altitudes, the firemen carried special breathing apparatuses and security goggles with nighttime vision. A state-of-the-art infirmary allowed for the performance of emergency operations with a high-tech ICU specialized in treating burns.
Additionally, three self-propelled service vessels, among them the blimp 'Sparkle' could be deployed to assist in the rescue of people floating on life-preservers, rafts or smaller airships.
All these brave men adhered to a simple yet catchy mission statement: „WE KICK ASH!“.
