Fireflies in central Utah

Credits & Details: www.sweetsexycrazy.com/fireflies/

If I could only see this night as another day,

I'd know you found your silence,

Instead of being wrapped up in me,

Wrapped up in this violence.

I'll make floating on water,

Looking out of the night.

There's a hole in the sky,

All those fireflies,

Don't believe in the sun,

Or the nighttime's scarce,

They're only fireflies.

Took a walk out the door,

On the day you would die,

And I looked up to the sun,

And I saw fireflies.

And now I can't see no border,

Between the day and the night.

You would turn on your life between those fireflies.

Fire,

It's only fire.

It's only fire.

It's only fireflies.

I know it’s been a while since I made last self-portrait or something conceptual. Being in the hospital and studying hard after that left me no time to live and create. Probably, you already know that. So, I tried to come up with a good idea for a new picture but my head was empty and I couldn’t find anything to start with. This is when I came across a wonderful group called Inspiration Theme Week and thought “Why not?” The theme was… fireflies! =)You can see the result above.

p.s. I would like to thank Christmas lights (or how do you call this in English?) for pretending to be fireflies for an hour. :)

Firefly Field is a hypnotic installation made of hundreds of small moving lights. By transforming the Triangle Meadow into a firefly field, the artwork takes visitors on a unique poetic experience.

I found an area infested with fireflies.

About 50 minutes of StarStax'd firefly light trails.

Better late than never. While intervalemetring another set of firefly trails with a 35mm lens (earlier photostreamed image, June 27th 2021) from this location, I used a 135mm lens here for a more compressed look. Focus was on the almost obscured shed!

As autumn takes a firm hold, the last fireflies of summer whisper with their smiles of light.

RNHF Fairey Firefly V at Cosford in 1991

The Sherman Firefly was a medium tank used by the United Kingdom and some armored formations of other Allies in the Second World War. It was based on the US M4 Sherman but was fitted with the more powerful British 76.2 mm (3.00 in) caliber Quick Firing (QF) 17-pounder anti-tank gun as its main weapon. Conceived as a stopgap until future British tank designs came into service, the Sherman Firefly became the most common vehicle mounting the QF 17-pounder in the war.

This Firefly, located in the Gdańsk Museum of the Second World War, is painted in the colors and markings of the 24th Uhlan Regiment of the Polish First Armored Division.

I've had this guy laying around for ages. I wish the helmet came in the newer dark bluish gray though. Oh well.

In the depths of the summer forest, the sun will set, the forest will be surrounded by the darkness ... The beautiful light dance of the Princess firefly will begin in the darkness where no one enters his feet. It is a shine of life of only 10 days on a summer evening. Shutter speed It is a picture of a composite of several photographs taken for 20 seconds.

Fireflies is made up of nearly 10,000 points of white light that float and sway organically on optical fibers in the breeze. Artist Bruce Munro was inspired to create this whimsical exhibit by two of his favorite books, Kim by Rudyard Kipling and Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - I can't say I miss the very humid days and nights of Illinois. But I do miss the fireflies. Their flashing lights are nowhere to be found in drier areas out west. Fireflies (also called lightning bugs) thrive in hot and humid weather. They are typically most active in the late spring and early summer. They flash their lights in the evening before quieting down when the temperature drops. I recently spent a few hours at Spring Lake, which is a place I've gone stargazing many times. This firefly entered the frame near Mars which stood out prominently as the red planet. Mars gets slightly brighter every night until it reaches opposition at the end of July, at which point it will be the brightest it's been in 15 years. Saturn is also visible, just right of center in a star cloud of the milky way. I was a little disappointed when a breeze came up and ruined the reflection, but it did provide relief from the biting mosquitoes.
