I'm surprised Mattel allow such blatant copying of some of its models but here we have a cheapo reproduction of the generic 2006 Matchbox Fire Engine. The casting itself doesn't look much worse than the Matchbox version but certainly doesn't feel as well made with pretty weak wheels and axles. I've seen them for some time sold in bargain and souvenir shops in different liveries, brand names and packaging though I believe the actual maker is Feisu. This one is currently available at B&M and is sold in City Vehicle packaging. Mint and boxed.

Chippewa Township firefighters along with 9 other area departments battled a garage and house fire in the 12300 block of South Portage Street. The fire started in a detached garage and spread to the rear of the home. Eventually spread throughout the home and even through the roof. A neighbor was able to get the residents out safely after spotting the fire just after 2p.m. One minor injury was reported.

I bought quite a few of these Teamsterz fire engines when they were briefly available this year from Poundland. They arn't licensed models but the cab is clearly based on a MAN TGA cab. For a model which costs just 50 pence new it was a real bargain. Mint and boxed.

This Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety pumper is a 1989-2001 International 4000 series crewcab. This one in their old white paint is probably a reserve rig (their new fire apparatus is red). I don't know if they still have this truck or not. The white light on top of the lightbar is an old Opticom strobe used to change traffic signals from red to green during an emergency response.

This rig reverts to an automatic transmission, has a 500GPM pump, a 150 litre foam tank and 2 backpack Compressed Air Foam (CAF) fire suppression systems. It also carries a battery operated cutter+spreader and is equipped with an Apollo monitor.

Mattel should pay attention on how to make very realistic but unlicensed castings from some cheapo Far Eastern toy makers. Loosely based on a MAN TGA cab, this is one very nicely cast model with good detailing and a realistic looking colour scheme. I imagine something like this will be just as popular with kids as some of the weird looking fantasy fire engines Matchbox inflict on us! Part of a 5 vehicle set currently on sale at Wilkinsons. Mint and boxed.

With 2 1/2 Ton Crash Truck . Able to produce foam , these fire trucks were the staple of both U.S Army airfields and base operations in the 1960's and 1970's. Our unit protected the Hueys of the 119 Aviation Company( Assault Helicopter) known as " The Redhawks"
These engines had beefier springs since they carried 400 gallons of water and 40 gallons of foam. They were also powered by a turbocharged 5 ton diesel engine.
