"Specialist rescue team" with inflatable pontoon boat on standby by the look of it. It's been raining heavily, but not that heavily.

Galilee Baptist Church on the corner of 48th street and 11th ave. in South L. A. suffered a devastating fire. Investigators say arson may be the cause.

A deliberately generic Fire Engine by Matchbox. Nice shape but couldn't they have used their many licensed castings? Anyway, this was bought this year as part of a 5 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

Crossing over from 2023 Case C to D is the latest recolour of the Matchbox MBX Fire Dasher, a rather believable but totally generic design. Money saved on no manufacturers license fees means this gets the real life San Luis Obispo Fire Department livery.

Found recently at B&M Bargains.

The fire brigade put on a demonstration of a rescue of casualties from a burning building using the ladder.

Looking like something from a 1970's science fiction movie is this pseudo futuristic looking Fire Engine by Suntoys. Although the vast bulk of their 1/64 castings are unlicensed they are usually based on real vehicles but now they have joined the craze of designing a range of completely original fantasy themed vehicles which bare no relation to anything on the road. That isn't really part of my collecting styles but there is something rather appealing about this model in a quirky kind of way and wouldn't actually look too out of place in either the HW or MBX ranges. Part of a five vehicle set currently available in Wilkinsons. Mint and boxed.

Once again, I have not got a clue why this former Devon Fire & Rescue Dennis fire engine of 1992 vintage was on the back of a low-loader heading along the M4 towards Bristol, Both vehicles belong to the Wring Group (Demolition Engineers), from Bedminster, Bristol. As the fire tender looks far from roadworthy, could it have been used on site somewhere as a water bowser?

I normally avoid buying the vast majority of the generic designs which have dominated the Matchbox range for a good five years now but occasionally one appears which looks believable enough. The Foam Fire Truck isn't a particularly new casting but its the first time i've really ever noticed it and as this new for 2017 recolour was in an ASDA store I visited recently I decided to buy it. Its extremely simplistic design which is just made up mainly of right angles and flat panels appeals to me and reminds me of the type of vehicle you might see in places such as Africa or any other continent which has large areas of desert and scrubland. New generic but believable Matchbox MBX Fire Dasher. One of several found firstly at Tesco and also included in a 72 count case ordered recently from abroad. Lovely and well thought out classic American styling and a sensible way on saving license fees. Mint and boxed.
