Latest 2022 Case E recolour of the now long running Hazard Squad casting which looks as though it'll end its days with a plastic body and grey plastic! Still a very effective generic design which suits most liveries given to it.
Mint and boxed.
On a very frosty morning, AF91, a Royal Navy-manned Green Goddess, responds to a fire alarm.
She is seen here departing the RAF Manston fire station, where we were based during the 1977-78 national fire strike. Manston was the only location in Kent to have two fire engines at that time.
The Navy crews in Kent were all trainees from various courses at HMS Pembroke in Chatham and had replaced Royal Engineer crews who had been manning the engines for most of the strike but needed a break.
Just 12 weeks into my naval service, this was a great adventure and mostly fun. Luckily we never had a really serious fire to deal with...
The Green Goddess is the colloquial name for the Bedford RLHZ Self Propelled Pump, a fire engine used originally by the Auxiliary Fire Service (AFS), and latterly by the British Armed Forces. The design was based on a Bedford RL series British military truck.
I should note that the vehicle above has lost its White Ensign - flown from a broom handle amidships - to a low-hanging branch! We flew them to indicate to the general public that 'the Navy's here...'

The Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service's Gosforth based Fire Engine 3198 NK10DHF was one of five fire appliances to attend a call out to the Monument Metro on August 15th 2016.
This Maisto cab design has been in production for many many years and has been used on various different body styles but in all that time i've never conclusively been able to determine whether its purely generic or based on maybe something like an old Iveco Eurocargo, any suggestions? This Fire Engine off shoot has been around itself for many years but castings are rarely discontinued at Maisto and so even in 2017 you can still find them brand new like this one which I found recently in a Wal-Mart as part of a five vehicle Adventure Force set. Clearly a budget effort it nonetheless looks far more realistic and believable than half of the generic MBX Fire Engines and even if that cab is of pure generic design it at least looks well sculptured and neat. This vintage Fire Engine is used for sightseeing tours in San Francisco.
We travelled in this truck around the city on our wedding anniversary.
Chemical Tender 121's new rig.
This truck carries a large quantity of dry powder extinguishing agent and pressurised nitrogen to dispense it. Somewhat like a large dry powder fire extinguisher on wheels.
The dry powder storage tank.
1964/09.B25. I don't know much about this vehicle, other than the obvious - it's a fire engine! However, if anyone can tell me any more details such as type, vintage, etc., please do.
I thought at first that it is a Leyland, but it has been suggested that it is a Dennis / Merryweather. It was at a Vintage Vehicle Rally, somewhere in the south of England, in September, 1964. Again, if anyone knows where this was, I'd be plesed to hear from them.
Several people have confirmed that it is indeed a Dennis of 1939/1940 vintage.

With this years show right around the corner, it's a great opportunity to see what you might have missed, and if you plan on attending this year, don't worry about bringing your American Express card, because it's free, but maybe take a light fleece, because it's supposed to drop down to 65 on the big day.

I can only presume this diecast Fire Engine model is of a purely generic design but I still find it strangely appealing. The actual Chinese toy maker is unknown to me but they are imported into the U.K. by HTI and can be usually found sold under their Teamsterz brand. Its a smart and modern looking design which actually features some pretty neat little detailing to headlamps and bodywork. Part of a two vehicle set currently found in Poundland stores. Mint and boxed.
