Doesn't get much crazier than this.

I wanted to try a slightly different approach to making a starfighter than what I normally do. I'm pretty happy with the results, and will probably do more larger scale ships from now on.

During the USMF's return to power as a major faction in the galactic stage, the need for newer and better ships became more and more apparent. The fallout of the Dimension Wars left numerous unexplored pockets of space in its wake and the need to quickly scout these area was of keen importance to the USMF.

Hyperius Industries, a company who had never partnered with the USMF before, found itself in need of clients after their previous big buyers, (the mysterious "Continuum"), were eradicated in the Dimension Wars. The AV-002 was the first of two major contributions to the USMF's evolving fleet.

The "Aquila" is a a long range scout/fighter craft. Though it has very little in the way of shielding, it makes up for it in raw speed. It's light frame only adds to its agility. This is the most heavily armed you'll see an "Aquila" class ship; four light laser cannons. Though options for additional armaments exist, the USMF prefers to leave the role of interceptors, attack ships, and heavy fighters to other crafts in the fleet. The Av-002 is also sold in the civilian market as well, where it enjoys a high degree of notoriety in professional space racing venues.

I was barely able to fit one minifig into a TIE with these quarterdome pieces and now I had to fit two. I managed to do that but just barely... the gunner in fact has more space than the pilot.

My Latest Tie-Fighter build, hope you'll like it!

Was in a 'over the top cannon action' kinda mood...

First of 2019.

Unnamed little fighter thing that uses a lot of bootlego bits. Enough cargo capacity to hold one of those 3x4 crates and some personal weapons for the pilot.

*Ding ding* "TIE FIGHTERS!" -- Who's ready to throw down?! In the right corner, designed by @nsbrickdesigns and coming in at 157 pieces, is the one...the only...Blow Tie!!! Over here in the left corner, the opposition designed by @brickatecture and weighing 152 pieces...Tie Die!!! Game. Set. Match. Who will win and take the golden belt and the title of best Tie Fighter?!

A really, really fun LEGO collaboration between @brickatecture and @nsbrickdesigns. What started as a LEGO Star Wars pun and joke collab idea actually happened a year later. We hope you enjoy these guys as much as we did building them!

Check out my character!

Don't take life and LEGO too seriously. ;) More photos on my Instagram and website!

Enjoy!

Through the creations that I build, I hope to inspire other young (or perhaps older) LEGO builders to unleash their inner creativity. We all need a positive way to express ourselves, so let's allow LEGO to be an extension of us. Your creativity belongs to you, and nobody can take that away. Build what you want to build, and how you want to build it. Creativity Never Ends!

Legendary Pink Fireball vs Master of the Crystal Kick. Rising Sun of the East vs The Savage Mistral.

These fighters and the scene were inspired by Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Virtura Fighter, Double Dragon, Bruce Lee (C64), Yie Ar Kung-Fu (C64) and some other less memorable games I used to play as a kid.

This is pretty close to finished. I was going to put another two in the front of the scene but it just looked cluttered, so maybe I'll figure out a way for another pic sometime.

I was really just trying to create some movement in a scene using some different type of limb attachment techniques. The brief for me was the figures needed to not fall to bits when they were not connected to the supports.

I changed the Rising Sun a bit as the dragon punch was just too big. Plus this one holds nicely in place too. The Savage Mistral has a move but that will be in a later post too ;) He got a bit smacked down in this scene :) (A minifig hand hold his leg in place nicely).

Thanks heaps to everyone who commented and favourited my Battle WIP :)

My old TF-104G Starfighter

is the first LEGO scale model aircraft I made. After building my F-86D Sabre

, I decided it was time to do a new Starfighter as a successor, just like when the RDAF replaced the Sabredogs with the Starfighters back in 1965.

A bit of R-type love in this one...

Central Java R-trip Episode 02 - Lawang Sewu

Lawang Sewu ("Thousand Doors") is a landmark in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, built as the headquarters of the Dutch East Indies Railway Company. The colonial era building is famous as a haunted house, though the Semarang city government has attempted to rebrand it.

Lawang Sewu was designed by Cosman Citroen, from the firm of J.F. Klinkhamer and B.J. Quendag. It was designed in New Indies Style, an academically-accepted term for Dutch Rationalism in the Indies. Similar with Dutch Rationalism, the style is the result of the attempt to develop new solutions to integrate traditional precedents (classicism) with new technological possibilities. It can be described as a transitional style between Traditionalists and the Modernists, and was strongly influenced by the design of Berlage.

Construction began in 1904 with A building, which was completed in 1907. The rest of the complex was finished in 1919. It was initially used by the Nederlandsch-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij, the first railway company in the Dutch East Indies.

After the Japanese invaded Indonesia in 1942, the Japanese army took over Lawang Sewu. The basement of B building was turned into a prison, with several executions taking place there. When Semarang was retaken by the Dutch in the battle of Semarang in October 1945, the Dutch forces used the tunnel leading into A building to sneak into the city. A battle ensued, with numerous Indonesian fighters dying.Five employees working there were also killed.

After the war, the Indonesian army took over the complex. It was later returned to the national railway company. In 1992 it was declared a Cultural Property of Indonesia.

@inthert_builds Tie fighter finally completed. The best companion to his T-65 X-wing, and probably the best shaped/scaled Tie out there. Now next stop, the Tie Interceptor…

Simon asked me to build some CS for what I would later learn was his moonbase. This is the fighter I came up with. I took a page out of 4est's book and rebuilt one of my older MOCs in CS minifigure scale. Only spent about 4 hours on this.

Shoryuken! I wanted to have a go at a 3D 8-bit style scene, there are loads of bits that don't quite fit the brief though.

I loved playing Street Fighter II, I used to spend so much money at the arcade trying to perfect Guiles Stance and Magic Throw moves. So many times the result was freezing the machine with someone (usually Zangief) in Handcuffs. Such fond memories :)

The aging AX-9 "Gunfighter" was sorely in need of replacement in the late 2430's. Hyperius Industries, already cementing a great deal of rapport with the USMF for their "Aquila" class scout, proposed this design to fill the heavy fighter roll.

The "Scorpion" class was given its name for the large mandible-type protrusions from the front of the cockpit area. These armatures were needed to house the massive heavy repeating lasers. Typically, these weapons were used as point defense on capital ships, and no one but the brilliant minds at Hyperius would have dared mounting such fearsome weaponry on a one-man ship. In addition to the heavy repeating lasers, the "Scorpion" also features two gauss cannons mounted on the wings and a pair of missile launchers beneath.

Though a few components are shared between the "Scorpion" and it's smaller brother the "Aquila" (namely the protected cockpit/pilot housing) the "Scorpion" could not be more different. It is quickly becoming the go-to favorite of USMF dogfighting aces. The "Scorpion" is a fierce threat to enemy fighters and heavier craft as well.

Who wants to take on this fighter?

Another Fighter for the Arkcanian Fleet. Hope you guys enjoy this latest addition. More Space Battle scenes coming soon.

Like a blade in the night, this nimble little fighter is just the thing to break through those pesky blockades.

I set myself the challenge of making a completely brick built tri-fighter. There are parts that exist that can be used to provide some extra details, but I like the challenge of replicating the effect in bricks.

I’ve always had a soft spot for this model- I was always quite impressed with the 2005 version that used the click hinges to create the semi-circular ‘wings’ which seemed quite unconventional back then. LEGO traditionally includes a buzz droid minifig with their version, so in that spirit, I asked MisterShramp if he could design a buzz droid to accompany my design. And he really stepped up to the challenge!

I originally thought about using bionicle shoulder armour parts to create the central sphere, but I settled on this design after experimenting with a number of other spherical parts.

The next challenge was to find suitable parts to recreate the semi-circular wings. I went through a number of different ideas- but many of the parts I could find didn’t have the right radius to match the original design. In the end I used bricks with studs on 4 sides with a rigid hose through the middle. The curved tiles help maintain the shape.

After tackling those two challenges, all the other details were pretty intuitive, and the build is surprisingly sturdy too.

The colour scheme also went through a few revisions. Each illustration/ concept art/ scale model I could find had some variation of blue and grey. In the end I went for this pretty subtle pattern. Any thing busier tended to draw attention to the (unavoidable) gaps in the construction of the semi-circles.

Check out MisterShramp's flickr

and instagram if you haven't already- he's got a bunch of really interesting ideas and instructions for his builds too!

How I spent most of my Saturday. I wanted to build a minifig-scale air/space fighter that was as small as possible while still looking "fly-able". The wings fold over the top for an even smaller profile. Gonna finish the cockpit and play around with different colors as soon as a couple Bricklink orders come in. Hopefully, I'll be using several of these little guys in a larger upcoming project. Hint: carrier.
