I set myself the challenge of making a completely brick built tri-fighter. There are parts that exist that can be used to provide some extra details, but I like the challenge of replicating the effect in bricks.
I’ve always had a soft spot for this model- I was always quite impressed with the 2005 version that used the click hinges to create the semi-circular ‘wings’ which seemed quite unconventional back then. LEGO traditionally includes a buzz droid minifig with their version, so in that spirit, I asked MisterShramp if he could design a buzz droid to accompany my design. And he really stepped up to the challenge!
I originally thought about using bionicle shoulder armour parts to create the central sphere, but I settled on this design after experimenting with a number of other spherical parts.
The next challenge was to find suitable parts to recreate the semi-circular wings. I went through a number of different ideas- but many of the parts I could find didn’t have the right radius to match the original design. In the end I used bricks with studs on 4 sides with a rigid hose through the middle. The curved tiles help maintain the shape.
After tackling those two challenges, all the other details were pretty intuitive, and the build is surprisingly sturdy too.
The colour scheme also went through a few revisions. Each illustration/ concept art/ scale model I could find had some variation of blue and grey. In the end I went for this pretty subtle pattern. Any thing busier tended to draw attention to the (unavoidable) gaps in the construction of the semi-circles.
Check out MisterShramp's flickr
and instagram if you haven't already- he's got a bunch of really interesting ideas and instructions for his builds too!

Atlantikwall Regelbau L487 Bertha - Commando Bunker for Luftwaffe Night-fighter From World War 2 1945.
Bunker L487 is a ww2 German bunker for radio measurement device evaluation for night fighter control "Bertha" in English.
The Bunker L487 communications is 22.10 meters long, 22.90 meters wide and 8.60 meters high and has two floors.
The night fighter (also known as all-weather fighter or all-weather interceptor for a period of time after World War II) is a fighter aircraft adapted for use at night or in other times of bad visibility. Night fighters began to be used in World War I and included types that were specifically modified to operate at night.
During World War II, night fighters were either purpose-built night fighter designs, or more commonly, heavy fighters or light bombers adapted for the mission, often employing radar or other systems for providing some sort of detection capability in low visibility. Many WW II night fighters also included instrument landing systems for landing at night, as turning on the runway lights made runways into an easy target for opposing intruders. Some experiments tested the use of day fighters on night missions, but these tended to work only under very favorable circumstances and were not widely successful.
Avionics systems were greatly miniaturized over time, allowing the addition of radar altimeter, terrain-following radar, improved instrument landing system, microwave landing system, Doppler weather radar, LORAN receivers, GEE, TACAN, inertial navigation system, GPS, and GNSS in aircraft. The addition of greatly improved landing and navigation equipment combined with radar led to the use of the term all-weather fighter or all-weather fighter attack, depending on the aircraft capabilities. The use of the term night fighter gradually faded away as a result of these improvements making the vast majority of fighters capable of night operation.

This striking little moth was found at a suburban porch light in Durham NC on 8 July 2021.
Faint-spotted Palthis - Palthis asopialis
For some reason these always remind me of a delta-wing fighter plane. Lots of schmutz on background cloned and blurred out for aesthetics, but the moth was not altered.
Inspired by the cool ships in Peter Reid's LEGO Space book. The whole ship is basically built around this part.
Soli Deo Gloria!
I was a bit surprised to find that it has been seven years since I last took a picture of my "Teen Fighters", i.e. the F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon/ Viper and F/A-18 Hornet.
heavy aromored star fighter used by an Hive like warrior race. Crafted from a bone like material.
only VV this year.
Based on medieval helmet. There is a light brick inside the cockpit but the picture did not convey the glow from the slits. I'll try and fix that when I have time. :)
The USMF's elite pilots (those given the rank of Paladin) are a tough breed whose exploits are well known across the galaxy. Though qualified on a wide array of different craft (including ones not used by the USMF) most Paladins operate solo or in small groups; often great distances from allied bases or capital ships and thus have found great use in one-man fighter craft with FTL capability.
Miniaturizing FTL jump drives is a complex and costly process, but the benefits of a faster-than-light starfighter are numerous. For years, the USMF Paladins utilized the AX-20 "Katana" in this role. While a sturdy and fast ship, the Katana's production foundry was completely destroyed in the beginning stages of the Dimension Wars, and as such, it's service numbers dwindled further from the already small amount (in comparison to non-FTL fighters in the fleet).
Starcom Solution's answered the call for a "faster-than-light jack of all trades" by introducing the "Tekkan" (a name of Japanese origin inspired by its spiritual predecessor "Katana"). Starcom Solutions, living up to it's name, conquered the complex issue of small FTL jump drives with a unique solution; the drive systems were built at the capital ship shipyards on Saturn and then shipped to Neptune where quantum technology was used to shrink the units down to a smaller size.
Impressed by the originality of Starcom Solutions' engineering prowess, the USMF quickly requested a Tekkan for immediate trial runs. The first Tekkan produced (which was painted red with white markings as tribute to the Katana) passed its tests with flying colors (no pun intended) and was assigned to Paladin Kira Janus.
The Tekkan features twin heavy repeating lasers (much like those found on Hyperius Industries' "Scorpion"-class heavy fighter) and twin "Mjölnir"-type lightning cannons, which fire thunderous bolts of energy across great distances. These weapons pack quite the punch and require no ammunition, but require a great amount of charge time. If safety protocols are bypassed, the capacitor banks can overcharge and result in a devastating chain reaction.
Designed with the small starfighter contest in mind, but it's also a WIP for SHIPtember.
Instead of the 14x14x6 criteria, I needed it to fit in a 8x8x5 area and fit through the 6x5 doors.
Yes, it fits a baldfig. The gun and engines collapse and it has a landing gear.
A fun little build. A Fredoichi-inspired fighter with Don Solo's Neo-Ice Planet color scheme.
Enjoy!
The Incom Corporation's T-44 K-Wing fighter was developed as a multi-role deep space, orbital and high atmospheric fighter. Commissioned by the Jedi Order, the intent was to make it as easy as possible to fly (using highly vectorable thrusters and multiple control surfaces - both inertial and aerodynamic, managed by a direct bio-limbic interface) to allow the Jedi pilots to focus their full Force powers on weapons targeting and the wider tactical direction of large fighter squadrons.
So easy and reliable it was to fly, it was decided to test it initially on Podludix Zaa, the Jedi Order's most incompetent pilot. Yoda himself said, "Very simple to pilot, this fighter is. Pilot it, anyone can if Pokludix Zaa can. Yes, hhmmmmm".
When Pokludix was finally recovered from the mangled wreckage of the prototype K-Wing (in the fateful few seconds after takeoff when he lost control, he forgot to hit the eject button), he had suffered only minor injuries. Fortunately his remarkably unexpressive face and inscrutable fixed smile remained unscarred and his successful Corellian Poker career continued unabated.

I generally like the design choices of the new, "special" TIE fighter. Instead of having cool angled side panels, some wacky shape, it is just slightly modified by adding details where it was lacking some.

The TIE Fighter is such an iconic starfighter from the Star Wars universe I just had to build with LEGO bricks. There are some excellent TIE fighter designs in the AFOL community. I especially like Jerac’s TIE Fighter which inspired me to build a version of my own. I started from scratch using blueprints, screenshots from the movies and pictures of scale models. Obviously I also incorporated some of Jerac's ideas like the brick-build wings and the use of dome bricks for the round cockpit.
The iconic silhouette of the X-wing fighter is something we recognize immediately, it is an astonishing little fighter. When the wings, or "s-foils", opened in Star Wars for the first time, we knew they meant business.
I was profoundly delighted when I saw the new X-wing fighter from J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It is a beautiful update to the original design. I call the new fighter "Stiletto" because of how the wings open. It looks mean!
A little over a year ago I made some Star Wars spaceship posters (album here), some with Lego, some with scale models. I added two more Lego posters to the series a few days ago. I add another one to the lot.
With this new one I am definitively stepping away from the strict top view design. The Lego X-wing has many gaps looking at it from the top, I wanted to see if another angle would be more interesting. I tried an old image from March 2013 and it looked good enough so I just kept that.

VL-400 Quimera
The Vila Disparador VL-400 “Quimera” is a single-seat, single-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet multi-role strike fighter originally developed for the Imperial Lego Air Force to replace the Freelancer fighter/interceptor. Fast, agile and extremely maneuverable, the Quimera was also operated by the Imperial Lego Naval Aviation, usually from the 130 000 tons Imperial Aircraft carriers.
The plane is considered today the very first “Strike Fighter” operated by the Lego nation, the project evolving from a high-speed interceptor into a fully multi-role capable (for both ground attack and air-to-air missions) fighter.
Featuring the highly advanced R-323 long-range radar, the Quimera was the first plane to employ the Fire-Dragon Air-to-air missile in combat and for many years was also the only fighter capable of firing 4 individual missiles against four different targets at the same time.
The Quimera nine weapons stations (including a small internal bomb bay) had a capacity for up to 8500kg of various weapons, including ground attack guided and unguided missiles or bombs, rockets, air-to-air missiles and other stores. Two 30mm ENA-60 auto-cannons are also carried on the sides of the frontal landing gear.
Despite the dimensions and heavy weight of the fighter, the very powerful V-475 jet engine and the variable geometry wings allows it to achieve a maximum speed of Mach 2.7, with four Firedragon missiles under the fuselage. To help maintain the control at those very high speeds, two movable fins deploy under the fuselage once the plane retracts his wings.
As soon as the Quimera entered service, it started to replace the older but still highly effective “Freelancer” fighter. Pilots found the new aircraft as docile as the previous one, thanks to the new wings and the advanced avionics. Before the Quimera, to perform a certain special role (like Wild Weasel), it was necessary to build a completely new plane for that role or to modify extensively an existing one. The VL-400 was the first multi-role plane, being capable of perform different missions without extensive modifications. On that role, it survived until the VL-27 Flanker fighter appeared.

The Warp Wing Fighter is a set (6915) from the UFO theme released in 1997. I always thought it looks remotely like an X-wing from the Star Wars Universe. The ‘Redesign a set’ competition on Dutch LEGO User Group Lowlug is the perfect opportunity to build a new Warp Wing Fighter with working X-wing’s S-foils.

Oh, so many things have happened.
First of all: I moved into my first own flat. Now I live together with Mandy, my awesome girlfriend, and the apartment is just insanely cool.
Still a lot of work to do, but the end is visible.
Unfortunately this also means that I dont have too much time for taking new photos in these days, but as long as I have stuff from Belgium left, this shouldnt be a problem.
Second: My Website / Blog is developing more and more. I already had a good number of clicks, and I feel like you guys like it.
The feedback that I am getting is also mostly positive, so I really want to go on.
Is there anything that you miss on my website or something that does not work properly?
I would love to get some feedback and constructive criticism.
Thank you guys, you are awesome!

A fighter is guarding the main road between Saigon and Phnom Penh
...Scientists were not able to give a distinctive explanation of this phenomenon. It is known that appearance of Delleh's mirages is spontaneous and depends neither on a specific geographical position, nor on the day part.
It should be mentioned that the possibility of appearance is stronger in sparsely populated regions, on abandoned territories and wastes. However, cases of mirages in densely populated areas were recorded as well...

I was coming back to this place again and again trying to capture a new phantom. I had a long time wandering through the Buninskaya valley on the outskirts of Moscow.
I felt I will be lucky that day and kept searching systematically, trying not to pay attention to the bitter cold.
Delleh's Mirage appeared around 2 pm when I was already chilled to the bone.
This time it was a flying warship. I think if the fighter could be real, its repulsor system or something like had been damaged, and the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing...
Despite severe frost in that late night it was still possible to encounter people in the streets. The shot was made a moment before on the road next to the ravine exactly opposite the spot where I stood appeared half-drunk hobo pushing a stolen from the nearest supermarket trolley filled with unremarkable stuff. When he saw me he shouted in a characteristic hoarse manner: "Uuh! Wut are you.. shoo..ting here!?" Apparently, he decided the photographer had been waiting to take a picture of him. But I just silently pointed at the bottom of the ravine. He came closer and looked down. Phantom gradually dissolved in the frosty air. I bet I heard him cursing the booze he had been drinking ...
