The first full day of a workshop with my brother and Randall Sanger Photography, we visited the Second Falls of Graveyard Fields. We had not been there long when the rain started, and it soon became heavy enough that we had to pack up leave. This is an HDR image. Four exposures were merged in HDR Efex Pro 2. Final adjustments were made to the merged image in Lightroom and Color Efex Pro 4.

Another from a foggy morning the day before. The combination of the vivid green grass and distant shrouded trees was amazing to see in person. I hope I was able to reproduce that atmosphere here.

Battle of Flodden (Battle of Branxton) September 9, 1513
14,000 men died in a few hours near this spot.....10,000 Scots and 4000 English in the bloodiest of battles in the Borders. Now it lies peaceful and still. The little village of Branxton nestles below.
Interesting to find two scenes with strong similarities in two places you would never expect to find such things. I like looking for spots like this.

On the outskirts of my hometown you can enjoy the peace of nature ...
I'm still on holiday by the coast and apart from the abortive attempt on the first morning have not managed any seascapes yet. Spending too much time holidaying and not enough time photographing, with the exception of this terrifically ploughed field that i've visited on a few evenings in different conditions so expect a few more over the next few weeks.

I used a low angle so as to lead your eye across the field and up to the sky at top of hill, and of course I used the rule of thirds.
Rapeseed (Brassica napus), also known as rape, oilseed rape, rapa, rapaseed and (in the case of one particular group of cultivars) canola, is a bright yellow flowering member of the family Brassicaceae (mustard or cabbage family).
Rapeseed is grown for the production of animal feed, vegetable oil for human consumption, and biodiesel. Leading producers include the European Union, Canada, the United States, Australia, China and India.
Processing of rapeseed for oil production provides rapeseed animal meal as a by-product. The by-product is a high-protein animal feed, competitive with soya. The feed is mostly employed for cattle feeding, but also for pigs and chickens (though less valuable for these).
