Una hoja verde de poinsetia, aunque conserva el rojo en el nervio central que es el detalle que intenté pillar en la foto :)
Green poinsetia leaf. I tried to capture the red color of the central nerve
It's sunday, but weather ain't too good for outdoor photography, been raining quite a fair bit kinda lately. Well that didn't really dampen my spirits though, decided to try out something new.. Products shoot!! Was cleaning my dry cabinet when i suddenly have this idea, so the obvious products is of cos...My lens collections!!!
No proper indoor studio setup, no light tent, no strobes, no strips, no continuous lighting etc.. Just very simple simple setup on table near window.
All shots taken with D700 + 50mm f1.4D + SB900 (master) and SB-R1 diffused, shot on tripod, with lens on a Round sheet of Plexi Glass.
Think need more improvement on lighting..Haha.. Nonetheless Its quite fun and challenging! Would like to venture more into these at some stage in time.
Thanks for your visits! Pls leave your comment/critiques if you can for me improve further!! Thks! =D
Have a nice weekend all!!! Cheers!
Detail of light fitting in hotel room, which just goes to show how bored you can get without really trying when you're travelling. London, UK

first here, then there,
are you uncertain, too,
little damselfly?
- Debra Woolard Bender -
First I was in the assumption that this was called "dragonfly" but I learned now it's a "damselfly". The dragonfly holds its wings to the sides while resting. The damselfly folds them on its back. Also the head is very different. At the damselfly the eyes are further apart.
we're going on holiday this afternoon - we''l be back the 18th of september.
we zijn vanaf vanmiddag op vakantie - de 18de september zijn we weer terug.
A net hanging in a boat house in Sörmland in Sweden. First I used wo flash but with so little light it was difficult (no support). Instead I used the built-in flash that is usually not a good idea for macro. But it created kind of a light curtain in the background.
It seems a moth because of its antenna.
Not a large one (3-5cm) but can be seen far away owning to its eye catching color.
Saw at carpark, a real big one, bigger than many small birds....
Also, a video of its face cleaning.
This moth was on a window presumably having bit of a snooze. It does have not particularly good camouflage for this environment (may be it taunts predictors that crash into the window :-) but the window does provide some back lighting.
I tried some shots with a 100mm macro lens, dSLR and a tripod. For some reason they did not come out as well this handheld shot with my Ricoh GR-D.

It was raining outside and I HAD TO use my camera!!! So I picked up some coins and a handful of drawing pins and set out to experiment with a 18-55mm lens and a 70-300mm macro lens, one of them fixed normally to the camera and the other one reversed. I particularly like the warmth of this one, and the blurred parts in it...
There is another example of this kind of experiment here, and of the ones with coins here and here.
