- www.kevin-palmer.com - Because of the lack of rain lately, the fall colors have not been as widespread this year in Illinois. Many of the leaves are just drying up and falling. But there is still some colorful foliage to be found, you just have to look for it. I found this bright red tree in a local park just before the setting sun painted the sky a soft pink and purple.

This was a fun season to build, as it being the time of harvest, I was able to have lots of fun minifig details. As well as some fall foliage, which is always neat.
Arangr castle is located near the Avalonian border, in Mitgardia. Fall sees the harvest of crops, and storage of provisions for winter. The leaves fall, as the weather gets colder, and animals also make preparation to hibernate or migrate south.

Some fall shots taken with my 5D Mark II and an adapted m42 lens, the legendary Pentacon 135 2.8 15-aperture blade model. This was shot wide open at 2.8. I used my favorite 30 inch soft box camera right to light her. She is holding my grandfathers old World War II era Contax Rangefinder.

Finally see a little hint of Fall colors in the area. This summers drought has muted most of the color.
Here, a small shaft of sunlight broke through the clouds to light the maple leaves.
American Elm, Ulmus americana (Ulmaceae), leaves become bright yellow in the fall.
It is a species native to eastern North America, occurring from Nova Scotia west to Alberta and Montana, and south to Florida and central Texas. Trees in areas unaffected by Dutch elm disease can live for several hundred years. Dutch elm disease is a fungal disease spread by the elm bark beetle, which has ravaged the American elm, causing catastrophic die-offs in cities across the range.

The Falling Man petroglyph is found in Nevada’s Gold Butte National Monument.
The area is rich in Native American history. The petroglyphs in the Gold Butte region date back 700 to several thousand years of age. The Falling Man petroglyph may tell the story of one unlucky individual but no one knows for sure what the true meaning is.
