Some Fall Colors on a rainy morning using flash. With the end of daylight savings time, it's still pretty dark when I walk the dog. In addition, it was raining when I took these images.
Fall colors or autumn colors is called "ruska" in finnish. Best time to capture this is yet to come but at least we can have a litlle taste of it already!
- www.kevin-palmer.com - Because of the lack of rain lately, the fall colors have not been as widespread this year in Illinois. Many of the leaves are just drying up and falling. But there is still some colorful foliage to be found, you just have to look for it. I found this bright red tree in a local park just before the setting sun painted the sky a soft pink and purple.

Its been such a beautiful fall season in the Ottawa area. Its not just that we get to work with dogs here at Keshet; here are some of the scenes that make it pretty easy to come to work ;)
American Elm, Ulmus americana (Ulmaceae), leaves become bright yellow in the fall.
It is a species native to eastern North America, occurring from Nova Scotia west to Alberta and Montana, and south to Florida and central Texas. Trees in areas unaffected by Dutch elm disease can live for several hundred years. Dutch elm disease is a fungal disease spread by the elm bark beetle, which has ravaged the American elm, causing catastrophic die-offs in cities across the range.

It seems that in a lot of areas up here that the leaves just went from green to brown and then started falling off. Anyway, there were quite a few colorful areas, and I managed to snap off a few shots with limited time to get outside. The peak is pretty much over up here as of the moment, but one can head down to the Lehigh Valley Valley, Bucks County (down in elevation) etc, and still see some beautiful fall scenery...
Falling Man Petroglyph
Gold Butte National Monument
Nevada
April 2021
The Falling Man petroglyph is found in Nevada’s Gold Butte National Monument.
The area is rich in Native American history. The petroglyphs in the Gold Butte region date back 700 to several thousand years of age. The Falling Man petroglyph may tell the story of one unlucky individual but no one knows for sure what the true meaning is.
