What's not to love about watching these majestic birds fish against a beautiful Fall palette.

I made it home from my week searching for wild horses and Fall color. My go-to place over the last few decades, just up the road apiece, is the eastern side of our Sierra Nevada. Turned out there was a nice early snow the day before I left. It was an unexpected delight.

My cousin and I had 7 wonderful days of good weather, never donned a jacket. We laughed that we hit a thunderstorm half-way through our return trip home from Lake Tahoe.
On a recent trip to Poconos, I was trying hard to find images of the cute towns with crazy fall colors. I came across this adorable church and cemetery that was bursting with Fall colors. I knew I wanted to frame the church with color, and get some of the tombstones to show context, but I think the area just did not want to be photographed. Though all three ingredients were available in spades, the right combination was actually quite hard to find. I ended wandering the cemetery grounds for some time to find this composition.
BTW, this is the Union United Church of Christ in Neffs Pennsylvania.

Note how pale the beak is compared to the black beak in the spring. Most warblers show a lighter beak color in the fall, but this species has the most dramatic change.
Along with the Ye11ow-throated warb1er this warbler species has the largest beak. This species is a cavity nester, and the only other warbler species to do so is Lucy's warb1er.

The Youghiogheny River (Yok-i-gay-nee), or the Yough (Yok) for short, is a 132-mile (216 km) tributary of the Monongahela River. Youghiogheny is a Native American word meaning “a stream flowing in a contrary direction”, or “a stream flowing in a roundabout course.” The uniqeness of the Yough starts, at the beginning.. it runs north throughout its entire course.

Fall Creek meets the Snake River in southeast Idaho here at Fall Creek Falls. This waterfall has a 60 foot drop off a travertine ledge onto terraces before reaching the river. It always amazes me that there are no guard rails or paved trails along the sheer cliffs. There is no parking lot or Starbucks, and no fee to enjoy the view.
