While visiting Edwards Gardens in Scarborough On. I came across this stream that was totally surrounded by the trees and their fall colors. It made for a wonderful photo op. Nature at it's best !!
Please press "L" and view Colorado in all it's splendor!
If I ever wished I were driving a convertible, this was the day and this was the road. Though technically closed, Fall River Road in Rocky Mountain National Park was still open for about 5 miles before hitting the closed gates. From those gates it turns into a gravel road climbing a precarious route up and over the Continental Divide.
It was a glorious Fall Sunday..... lots of sun…blue skies…perfect temperature….few people…and those trees…those glorious golden quaking Aspen trees that will live in my heart and mind forever.
As always, thank you for all comments, Invites, Faves and awards!
I collected about two dozen beautiful and varied leaves last night from the trees at Costco. My husband loaded our groceries while I wandered the parking lot searching for treasures. When we got home, I carefully laid the wet leaves on towels and put heavy pans over them to keep them from curling up and getting crunchy. I had dreams all night about what I could create with them.
TSBY GP35 #393 has just arrived in Cadillac with a Lake Central Railtours Fall Color train in October of 2007. My friends and I rode this train up from Owosso, and I even got to ride in the cab of 393 from Owosso to Mt. Pleasant. After a stop for lunch here in Cadillac, the train would run west on the old Ann Arbor to Yuma, where it would reverse direction and head back home, arriving in Owosso around 8 pm. This was one of the last years for Lake Central Railtours, as rising insurance costs finally forced them to shut down.

Today we had our first real rainfall since July! Not the norm around here to be so dry. It sure did give our fall leaves some shine for shooting today.

Another one that I entered that is on the theme of "dreams". This is one of the most common nightmares that people have and that is falling.
I made my friends suffer to make this photo. After being eaten alive by insects and intense body positions this is the outcome of our hard work. And I cant thank you enough enough for them helping me out to achieve what I had envisioned in my mind! :)

a sample of the Fall color around here......we don't have many hardwood trees around this part of Texas...they don't do well here, so we don't have a lot of Fall color. This tree looked like it was glowing with the sun shining down on it.
my 4th graders did these and attached creative writing paragraphs starting off w/ "my favorite thing about fall.."
they did a fantastic job in my opinion.
so, what's YOUR favorite thing about fall?
(i'll try and photograph some of their writing next week too, so you all can see that) :)

This is most likely the last of the fall colors, as may trees are bare now, and it is colder, although no hard freezes yet.
Þingvellir, national park in Iceland during fall season 2020. The oldest parliament in the world was located here, founded in 930 AD and operating for over 870 years. It's a beautiful place, and "thanks" to this virus situation, almost free from tourists these days. Shot with the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 ART on Canon EOS R.

Fluid Fall muted colors on this scenic Autumn shot because of a heavy flow of water filtering the view, shot in North Carolina.
This is my FAVORITE time of year! This was just a simple cupcake made for the Sweet Shoppe this weekend. I love how the leaves just look like they are falling right off!
There is just something really special about waking up before the sun, getting dressed in your warm cloths because you are hoping for some fog and frosty conditions when you get to your sunrise location. Once you make it to your spot, you start to see the conditions you were hoping for are really there so you start to get excited..... then the sun starts to peak it head out from behind the mountains and CLICK!!! you captured what you had been waiting all summer to catch. That's kind of what I was hoping for this fall foliage season but the fall foliage here in NY wasn't at all what I had hoped it would have been.
I know I haven't posted here in while, but I'm trying to get back at it!!
have a great weekend!!

This is a shot of my backyard, sadly those leaves are all on the ground now. As always, Autumn was beautiful in Kentucky this year. I'm glad that I got some nice shots of the great fall colors before everything turns brown in the bluegrass state.
Some colorful Fall scenery along the Iowa River at Tower Rock Park in Hardin County, Iowa.
Developed with Darktable 3.6.0. Two photos combined together with the Hugin Panoramic Editor.
The last image in my series of Autumn captures from Loose Park in Kansas City, Missouri. The clouds have been hanging around for what seems like weeks. I've had the last few days off on a mini vacation of sorts (doing some home repairs and a few photo walks). I was trying to capture a little of the Autumn spirit without having the grey skies bring me down so I had to go where the colors are and they all seem to be on the ground.

Colors are starting to change, my favorite time of the year.

Roses love fall weather.
This one in the front of a house on King Street seen during our recent walk.
Friday's Flower Power...
September 22 at 9:38 the sun crosses the Equator heading south to the Tropic of Capricorn, this is my favorite time as the sun makes this trip. Equal night and day as the sun crosses the Equator and then the shortest day when it gets to the Tropic of Capricorn, that is for the Northern Hemisphere.
I think every photographer has a favorite tree that they love to visit at various times of the year. This is mine. I see it every day as I take little Beau on a walk, and try to take a picture of it in the different seasons. Here is my fall interpretation….
