October moon rise near its closest distance to Earth (perigee). Two more supermoons will occur this year, including the November full moon which will be the closest full moon thus far in the 21st century- the next closest moon will be in 2034.

The trail leading to Hidden Falls at Curt Gowdy state park in WY. A nice trail. 2 miles one way. For me it felt like 10 miles! At 71 I still made it. A few more seniors walked by me like I was standing still. Maybe the weight of the camera slowed me down? Winter is a good time to get in better shape,
