Wondering what the colors look like up there ... may have to head up there soon to check it out if I can get time. This was the glen last Fall.
Some more of the hard to find colors this Fall in the Mid Atlantic area ... been very dry the past 45 days overall.

Went on an adventure to find fall colors and we found snow, too! Didn't have chains so we could only go so far.
I took this on a quiet morning in Queenstown after wandering up a lakeside path from the Rees Hotel. This pond at Queenstown Gardens was actually one of my very first stops a couple of days earlier, right at the beginning of my New Zealand trip. I’d tried to photograph this spot then, but nothing quite landed.
No matter how long you spend in New Zealand, it never feels like enough—so finding time to circle back, ahead of an already full itinerary, felt like a small herculean effort. But the morning was peaceful and the fall colors around the lake were just as nice as they had been days earlier.

Playing between the breaking waves is a favourite pastime on an incoming tide. the odd big wave will cover the sand, and give wonderful reflections and patterns for a few seconds, till the next big wave. Fall together by the Temper Trap seemed suitable, as the sky and it's reflections seem to fall towards each other.
I meant to post this yesterday for Wall Wednesday but time got away from me. So here it is, a day late. An old stone wall here in Lawrence with Fall leaves. From last year's archives again. Processed with an Artistic Painting effect and some added texture. In Lawrence, KS.
I've often puzzled over the phrase "falling in love" but when I remember what I felt like during the first heady months with my now husband, I guess that it's a good way to describe it, and I was fortunate because my leap off the cliff into the unknown had a soft landing, a wonderful cloud that I still reside on. This photo was taken by my mother of her younger sister Violet and my father's little brother Danny, probably in the summer of 1953 in front of my grandmother's garden. They were together from youth, and now are together on some other earthly plain.
For a period this Fall, the color here in New Hampshire was intense.... Although it may look as if I boosted the saturation of some channels, not so.
Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water. It was a really great day to shoot, there was just enough snow to add to the shot. And there was no body there when I was, so I had the free run of the place without having to worry about anyone getting in the shots.

Didn't get out anywhere special to photograph autumn color this year, but snapped a few shots around our property. The leaves painted the ground and our bench in the front yard.
Memorial bench, in the Dawson's Creek business park (a park like setting to preserve the wetlands area - privately owned but open to the public). This photo was taken the day after an overnight wind storm, hence all the blown down leaves and branches.
I realized that I have not posted all of my fall color photos from 2014!
This photo was taken with the Lumix GH-2 and a Minolta 50mm f/1.4 MC/MD mount lens, with a micro four thirds adapter. The light was low in this deeply shaded spot, making it a good place to use the fast lens. I did not record the details but suspect this was shot at f/2.0. The Minolta lens is very soft at f/1.4, but once it is closed down a bit, its quite sharp.
Autumn morning light in Beech Bottom Dyke, St Albans, Hertfordshire, England.

The dyke is a defensive earthwork that is thought to have once protected the iron age (20 BC) city of Verlamion, capital of the Catuvellauni tribe and forerunner to the Roman settlement of Verulamium, now modern St Albans.

Driving through town I came across the beautiful maple tree in a cemetery standing all alone in its glorious fall color. I had to pause, take a photo and say a prayer for those who had gone before me hoping they had found the home of their heavenly father. Best view is on black.
