Dorodango, attempt 1.

If you do not know what a dorodango is, please see www.dorodango.com

Its an interesting way of passing time. I now intend to at some point finish something that could at least be recognizable as a dorodango:)

Lia Fail..

Very nice too..

"To craft LIA FAIL our brewers selected flavour packed dark crystal and chocolate malts. This combination creates a warming malty body bursting with nutty, chocolate notes that we have balanced with spicy aromas from Cascade and Fuggles hops. It finishes full, mellow and satisfying"

This is what happens when I try to take a picture of my white and unshaved (tmi?) legs. My flannel shirt gets jealous, and takes the spotlight. I know it's a waste of space for me to upload this since I don't have a pro account and can go up to only 200 photos (and I'm scarily close to that number), but I just had to share this. And I had to share the fact that I have... a blog... so if you wanna look at it, or just for future reference here it is: click me, i'm a blog.

...Yeah...

P.S. My title for my blog is like, eh, so if you see it and wanna make suggestion for a better one send it to me somehow! Like in a comment on my blog or even here. I'd really appreciate it actually.

My MacBook's optical drive failed Wednesday. Very sad - but at least it's still covered by AppleCare (one month and 12ish days before it expires!). I'm off to pick it up tomorrow (Saturday)!

They did finally update the image on the article, but this tweet remains to show that Mother Jones does not know what a bee is (and the stock photo is even labeled a wasp!)

Hand-Held Stack Focus, 3 exposures

Not all that great as photo's go, but is probably the first "stack focus" I ever did & it opened my eyes to the possibilities of a new technique. New to me, anyway. I don't do many SF's even now but I've become fairly competent at it and enjoy the results.

Stack focusing isn't magic and won't save a totally bad picture. My SF 1 above is still a little blurry under close examination due to me choosing a pretty slow shutter speed (1/13th sec) for my 3 hand-held shots. I ain't that steady so I moved a little. But there's lots of room for improvement and the technique will reward you if you do everything right.

Here's an example where everything seemed to work just right: www.flickr.com/photos/paddyspig/13951296613/in/photolist-...

Dunno what happened to my title bar, but kids were involved...

The 50x70cm poster "Dr.Fail" is our participation for the SEEAR Exhibition 2013 themed "Superheroes".

The brief was to create a character and visualize him through a poster.

-

The poster exhibits the origins of Dr.Fail through three basic timelines. Two of them are centered around his personal life and events, that inspired him to build machines and weird inventions, most of which failed miserably. The third timeline is focused on his relationship with Megumi, the girl who unwillingly broke his heart and transformed him to a super villain.

-

The idea behind the poster is not to show the character itself, but instead allow the viewer, through an emotional association, to visualize the character based on similar experiences. The color theme and the choise of the data circle, was inspired by the character's japanese origin, which is enhanced by the use of english and japanese languages for the legend and text of the poster.

It really did seem bigger than that when I was a kid. Check it out for yourself.

Hahaha, sorry for the bad quality. It was on my phone, my brother is lame.

Man all of a sudden every thing on my bike is literally dropping to bits with in the space of days! Next up came on a decent townsend mountain bike, not sure if it was original or not. Unknown history, I used it for approx 2000 miles. I'm amazed what happened, whilst out on a ride I noticed when I lifted the bike up over a stile that the saddle rattled a little, checked to to see what it was as I don't recall it being loose or at least not this much and every thing seemed sound so I just thought oh it's fine, rode all the 8 mile home and put the bike away, every thing normal. Next day I went to lift the bike away from the wall to go for a ride and ping! little bent black piece of metal fell to the ground. Can't believe it fell off then and not when in use! I seem to be pretty jamy when it come to things like this. It must have snapped most of the way through at some point and held on by a little piece for a short while. So the question is would you still dare ride it as is?

This proves it that I can't use the Paul adapters. It places the rack too high. I'll have to get mid-fork braze-ons.

Yes, that is a box fan zip tied to a cable ladder, hanging under a cooling duct.
