I've been working on Holly, she's the faerie of the holly plant. I thought she would be really cute for Christmas. There is a lot of interesting lore about the holly plant, and it has healing properties too! I will be writing more about that when she is all finished. ^_^

Holly Faerie is a OOAK beaded art doll. She is bal-jointed and has 13 points of articulation. She is made of Japanese glass seed beads, organic cotton thread & fiber fill, ahimsa silk thread, and Swarovski pearls. She is about 9 inches tall. Spinel Faerie is the first in a series of Gemstone Faeries. She is about 9.25 inches tall, and is made of Japanese glass seed beads, organic cotton fiber fill & thread, and Swarovski pearls. She will have natural black spinel on her dress. All the colors used represent colors of spinel. She is ball-jointed, and has 13 points of articulation.

Some Bougainvillea flowers I spotted hanging over a neighbours fence.

I decided to find some faeries to play in my garden of Lupines and they seem right at home there don't they?

The Controller's family stopped by the office... and although I was not able to capture a picture of his son, I did get this ADORABLE little faerie, his daughter!

Had to shelter from the rain under the Faerie Viaduct on the River Aire in West Yorkshire so had limited views - so tried something a bit different.

Taken at Castlewellan Country Park, Co Down.

The hat sits on a bookcase that's behind me when I sit at the computer. This way, the faeries get to look over my shoulder. They like it when there are other faeries on the screen. They like it even more, of course, when they are on the screen. The purple dragon is Druff the Magic Pagon. Next to him is Rhiannon, then Brian and Wendy, then Sparkle (twin to Twinkle on the other side). At the top is Sundancer. Usually I try to have her facing toward the rear, but she keeps turning around and peeking around the peak of the hat. The butterfly is a shy faierie in disguise.

"Hear me I'm the storyteller of knights and warriors I know many tales

"Their joyces and cries"

Around the fire, in the redening light

"I'll sing my song"

and tell everyone here

"About true heroes"

you'll know finally

"The end of this tale"

In the evening when the sun is down

"In the last hour of day"

I'll entertain the ones wishfull to hear

"These medieval tales"

And then in their sleeps, they'll remember days

"When lived the kings"

in their heroic times

"No one was in pain"

peace and happiness

"Rulled over the land

Far on the hills in the silence of dreams

the heart of all heroes will

sing in the name of our

Kingdom of gold magic lands of our hold

the wise and the faithfull could live there

and fullfill their quest of majesty

And then when the story will be over

"And when the fire burns out"

I will make my trip to farther lands

"To keep the legend alive"

maybe you'll forget me, but you never will

"Forget my tales

for your destinies

"Are tied to these legends

what was happening

"Will happen again"

Far on the hills in the silence of dreams

the heart of all heroes will

sing in the name of our

Kingdom of gold magic lands of our hold

the wise and the faithfull could live there

and fullfill their quest in their eternal majesty"~Fairyland, "The Storyteller"

... is sometimes determined by the roll of the dice

I finally got around to completing my seasonal faeries series. Here’s spring – I had a lot of fun working on her. She was probably the most fun, followed closely by autumn.

I’m considering doing another series of faeries, perhaps with an elemental theme. We shall see. I’m going to spend a bit of time getting some other ideas out of my head, but I may eventually circle back around to more girlie things like this.

These buckwheat pecan pancakes are SO GOOD! Totally Magical!

My Island Doll Dafne and Mini-Machina hybrid!

This is not her usual wig and I've since had to undo this paint job, the finish wasn't as durable as I had hoped, but the paint technique worked well!

Anxiety Faerie from Snotnormal on Etsy (free shipping)

This doll is an Anxiety Faerie. Anxiety Faeries will absorb all angst and dread from an anxious person. They come from a mythical land far, far away, where people have piles of ugly, tedious paperwork and cars with dead batteries, and bosses from Uranus. A land with things called global warming, Fukushima, and WalMart, and root canals, and Miley Cyrus . . . and where are all the bees going, anyway?

When agitated, simply clutch your Anxiety Faerie to your breast, with both arms. Then rant your heart out. Don’t hold back. Your Faerie can take it. Guaranteed effective! (Full instructions included.)

The Historic Gardens have certainly found favour with the good faeries that have moved into Annapolis Royal. More faerie houses appeared today, these ones nestled under our giant magnolias.
