I hope someone can remove the dust and grime from this photo. And 'fix' the eyes of the ladies!
I can't find anything on the photographer to get an estimate of age of this photo by my guess is circa 1900.
Despite its colour, I think this is a Barred Red moth. It looked faded and very jaded. In fact I think it was on its way out. I nearly trod on it as I walked in the woodland the other day.
Towards the South East End of Joshua Tree, the Colorado Desert, with Creosote Bushes, opens up vistas with very unique rock formations, separate from the rest of the park!
Sadly, Eastbourne Buses itself is fading: after more than 100 years, it's been sold to Stagecoach, who aren't going to keep the name or brand.
I know it's a silly thing to be sentimental about, but that seems sad to me.
The scar is fading in colour. I don't put makeup on it because the silicone based scar ointment must stay moist.
The dent is still there but not as bad as a few weeks ago.
It will be interesting to see what my face is like in one year from now.

I decided to try my hand at some still-life-type photography this morning.
The Subject: A bouquet of flowers from the wedding of a long time friend of my wife and I. My wife just left them out to dry as-is. They're quite something in person. A lot of texture to them, and the faded colors are both dull and striking at the same time. Perhaps the best part of this bouquet is the now-shrunken stems of the flowers. They've retained their shape, but, in the drying process, have shrunken quite dramatically.
Anyway, I put these on my kitchen table (which is for sale by the way...in great shape...and only $50!) this morning. I used a wrinkled pale blue sheet, and turned the blinds down to get a little sunrise lighting onto the table.
I think this experiment worked out nicely. I intend to try this again, perhaps with a different subject, to try some different angles.
Critiques are most welcome!

Adjusted the contrast, hue, and saturation values just a tad to lighten up the flowers. They were a little too muted (more than they actually appear in real life) and dark to post straight off the camera.

The Pachacamac temple is the pre-Incan site for Pacha Kamaq, the creator of the world. Incas later stole Pacha Kamaq and made him the husband of Pachamama (the sustainer of the world).
This wall on the main Templo del Sol (Incan) shows a tiny part of the original fresco and the millennium of weathering since.

Taken from my most recent trip up to Larch Mountain. I plan to return there again soon when the snow level falls below 4,000 feet. Last year it was amazing and I just beat the gate closure. Fall is fading and winter is arriving...
