A grey slab of sky greeted me this morning, so another misty shot from a few weeks back. I was very fortunate that morning as it wasn't too long before the mist lifted and there was nothing to see at all! Always get to your spot before sunrise is my motto :)

More texture work. Taken last spring, I've just rediscovered this directory and found a few unprocessed photos. Because life can sometimes be a bit dirty and faded.

Withering hortensia, making room for new colourful offspring

Been outdoors for some shooting and discovered some fading tulips - nature can be so beautiful - and dreamful too.

Curious Eastern Bluebird taking on a more neutral coloration as it prepares for its migration to the warmer south.

Common migrant and Summer resident that leaves in October. A small number sometimes overwinter in the area.

A forgotten Lockheed PV-2 at Gila memorial airpark, just south of Phoenix AZ. You can find several PV2s an DC4s on this abandoned airpark, including the burned down terminal building. It was used to be the base of 60 aircraft back in the 1980s. Nowadays it is just a great place for photography!

Please take a look at my photostream for more photographs from this amazing place.

The sand may brush off

The salt may wash clean

The tans may fade

But the memories will last forever!

Happy September 1st!! :))

A stranger's heart without a home

You put your hands into your head

And then its smiles cover your heart....

With shifts in populations and shrinking farm families many country and small town churches have gone this way. No longer a sustainable parish to hold them together the church is left to rot alongside the fence (HFF) there which once kept the people from parking on the lawn on those crowded Sundays.

Memories evade me, of when the world was warm. Days past when the sparkle of magic was a delight. I could feel the beat of the drum, steady thumping it's rhythm in my soul. Time passes though, as it does, and I find myself forgetting what it was like to kiss lips not already gone cold. I've lost the excitement of the endless possibilities that lay in uncertainty. There was a time that I longed for it all back, with every bit of my being. Now as the nights grow longer, I struggle to feel even that.

Have a great weekend everyone :)

As the sun set, the sea breeze picked up and a dark blue moment wrapped the sea and me in its soft embrace 💙💜 Hanko, Finland.

"Faded the flower and all its budded charms,

Faded the sight of beauty from my eyes,

Faded the shape of beauty from my arms,

Faded the voice, warmth, whiteness, paradise!

Vanishd unseasonably "

~ John Keats ~

It's fading ... summer is quickly fading into our memories as the brilliant blaze of Autumn touches our hearts.

Found this waterfall while going over Cinnamon Pass, San Juans, CO.

I thought I loved you but what I loved was how your presence made me feel. The moments when I felt worthless and yet you made me feel I was worth something. I enjoyed the attention, affection and loyalty. But most of all, I enjoyed that invisible control I realized I had over you. Maybe I did try to love you, but I just couldn't completely, there were shinier stars within my reach. The more flashy type that I preferred over you. Yet, I didn't want to let you go, I wanted to still keep you for myself but I also wanted to have the other.

Was I really so confused? Or perhaps just greedy? Of course not, I knew exactly what I wanted and I took it all...and I will still keep taking it because you allowed me to anyways.

You act like you are strong, you act like it doesn't bother you that I took in another star and still keep you close. How weird is that? But the longer I drag this little game stringing you with me through the sorrows and misery of my journey, the more I realized I am loosing that sweet control over you. Maybe I should have just chose you like I said I would always do...

It's too late now for that...

I watched you turned your head away from me, a small knowing smile forming on your lips as you told me sweetly that you knew all along about my faded lies...

P.S. Wanted to write something different for a change. Thought it would be cool to think from a different perspective...

The perspective of a narcissist. So, watch out!

This agapanthus was in my flower delivery a couple of weeks ago...couldn't let it go before taking a photo. I used a couple of my own textures and a f-fair bit of f-faffing. HSS

I found a very interesting set of portraits on the web today. They are from 1920’s Australia and picture individuals as shown by an anonymous police photographer. Really remarkable, I think.

I borrowed one and layered it with my own work for the We’re Here! theme today – non-pose pose.
