Ich sah diesen F-104 "Starfighter" bei einer Fahrt nach Zierikzee. Hier ein paar mehr Details:
Baujahr: 1964 bei SABCA (Belgien), Seriennummer 683D-9088.
Ursprünglicher Betreiber: Belgische Luftwaffe.
Kennung dort: FX-45.
Sie flog also nie offiziell bei der niederländischen Luftwaffe — das Tarnschema und die Kennung D-8030 hat sie erst nach ihrer Außerdienststellung erhalten, als sie zu einem Ausstellungsstück umgebaut wurde. Die Niederlande und Belgien hatten sehr ähnliche Starfighter-Flotten, was solche "Farbwechsel" möglich machte.

I saw this F-104 "Starfighter" during a drive to Zierikzee. Here are some more details:
Built in 1964 by SABCA (Belgium), serial number 683D-9088.
Original operator: Belgian Air Force.
Tail number there: FX-45.
It never officially flew with the Royal Netherlands Air Force — the Dutch paint scheme and the registration D-8030 were added only after it was retired from service and converted into a display piece. The Netherlands and Belgium had very similar Starfighter fleets, which made such “color changes” quite feasible. (Quelle/source: Internet)

The theme is called eye-catcher and we have to post a picture of 'eyes in selective colour’. Mrs Egg went to an eye doctor lately and it was a perfect occasion to take a picture in the waiting room. And let me tell you, the things you see at the eye doctor are really eye opening…Ok, I’m out…

The Port House (Havenhuis) is an architectural jewel and undoubtedly one of the most amazing and high-profile eye-catchers of the Antwerp skyline. It is the head office of Port of Antwerp-Bruges, and the workplace for 500 of its staff.
The renowned Zaha Hadid Architects firm delivered this astonishing masterpiece in 2016, as befitting a world port like Antwerp, and a symbolic gateway to the port area. At the Port House, the past and future of the port of Antwerp and Bruges come together.
Etwas unterhalb der 'unteren Ilsefälle' (flic.kr/p/2pdmH54) befindet sich diese Stelle an der Ilse im Harz. Auch hier habe ich wieder ein Blatt als Eyecatcher platziert. Leider habe ich die Schärfentiefe nicht ganz präszise berechnet. Denn das Blatt ist ganz leicht 'out of focus'. Hier hätte ich mir die Mühe eines Focusstacking machen sollen. Trotzdem finde ich das Bild gut genug, um es hier zu zeigen.

This point is located slightly below the 'Lower Ilse Falls' (flic.kr/p/2pdmH54) on the Ilse in the Harz. Here again I placed a leaf as an eye-catcher. Unfortunately, I didn't calculate the depth of field very precisely. Because the sheet is very slightly out of focus. I should have made the effort of focus stacking here. Nevertheless, I think the picture is good enough to show it here.

Office building L'Arc en Ciel

L'Arc en Ciel (the rainbow) is an office building in Deventer, designed by I'M architects. The inner facade is an eyecatcher by the chosen finishing in glass. The glass stains in light under various angles. This allows at the same time a part of the facade lights up green while another part lights up orange.
While driving from Yellowstone to Grand Teton National Park, one cant help but notice the overwhelming beauty of the Tetons. if you want to know the meaning of the word majestic, just look at the Teton and the meaning will become so obvious as never before.

Dedicaded to my daughter. Her eye looks just like a doll's eye in this capture. Soon she is all grown up. With dolls she did not play very much.

Another shot from Käppeler Hof in Thiergarten (Schwäbische Alb): in the background you can see the stairs from my earlier 'Cat story' but the eyecatcher here is the old horse-drawn carriage!
This little viola grows about 2600m a.s.l., where vegetation is pretty sparse at best, and flowers in the middle of October. It was the biggest and brightest flower that I saw in a two mile radius at least, and I wonder how it got there.
We found this little guy and his brother and sisters in our woodpile. This is the 4th time we have had a feral or neighbor cat lay their kittens in our yard. Not sure what to do about this. They sure are cute though! HMBT & HSoS!
Het bijna dagelijks rijdende kaliloogvervoer (lauge) tussen Heringen/Werra en het bij Hannover gelegen Bokeloh en Sehnde is een van de vaste eyecatchers die af en aan door het Leinetal rijden. Mede dankzij de fraaie sleep Innofreightwagens en de kleurige locomotieven - meestal van het type Eurodual van Stadler - maken het tot een gewild fotodoel.
Over het algemeen zijn er momenteel vier vervoerders actief in het laugevervoer, te weten HLG, Infraleuna, VTG en HVLE. HVLE is als enige zelfstandig met Euroduals onderweg op de Werratalbahn, de dieselspoorlijn tussen Gerstungen en Heringen/Werra en haalt tevens als enige vervoerder de lauge in Heringen/Werra op en brengt deze naar Sehnde.
De overige vervoerders wisselen steeds in Gerstungen de lege en beladen treinen uit. Een diesellocomotief rijdt de treinen dan op de Werratalbahn van/naar Heimboldshausen. Waar het plan op werkdagen doorgaans ongeveer gelijk is, rijdt het op zaterdagochtend allemaal net iets anders. Het weekend staat immers voor de deur en dat betekend ook een tijdelijke stop in dit vervoer, dat van zaterdagmiddag tot maandagochtend stilligt.
Op zaterdag 15 juli 2023 stond voor ons de terugreis naar Nederland op het programma maar eerst konden er nog wat treinen worden vastgelegd. Omdat ik in het ten zuiden van Alfeld gelegen Föhrste vrijdagmorgen nauwelijks een leuke trein had gefotografeerd, probeerde ik het een dag later nogmaals. In lekker vroeg ochtendlicht passeert de 159 216 van HLG met een lege laugentrein uit Bokeloh naar Gerstungen (en Heimboldshausen).
Luxemburgisch: Kiischteknëppchen
Der Kernbeißer (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) ist die größte in Europa heimische Art der Finken (Fringillidae). Der große und kräftige Kegelschnabel des sogenannten Finkenkönigs stellt ein auffälliges Merkmal dar. Die Schneiden des Oberschnabels und die ausgehöhlte Führung des Unterschnabels ermöglichen in Verbindung mit der entsprechenden Muskulatur das Aufspalten von Obstkernen, wozu ein erheblicher Druck aufgewendet werden muss. Der Kernbeißer besiedelt Europa, Nordafrika sowie ostwärts die Gebiete bis Ostasien und Japan. Seine Nahrung setzt sich vor allem aus Samen von Laubbäumen und Früchten, aber auch aus Insekten und deren Larven zusammen. Die Art gilt derzeit als nicht gefährdet.
