This is from a negative in my collection showing one of the London Docks, I think the Victoria Docks, sometime circa 1955.
In the picture is the cruise ship 'Presidente Peron' that regularly ran the Argentina - London route.
To the right is the Royal Mail Lines 'Loch Ryan' (built for the war effort in 1943 and scrapped in 1960) that also regularly ran to South America and the Caribbean.
In the foreground are some of the West Midlands' finest.

A DP unit facing the right way shoves on a loaded grain train headed to the PNW. Shot between Noxon and Heron on MRL's 4th Subdivision.
Locomotives built by GE Transportation at the Erie assembly plant in Lawrence Park, Pennsylvania, ride flatcars on a westbound NS train near Painesville, Ohio, en route to their overseas destination. It was cloudy and near sunset when this train came past and barely enough light to get an image on slide film. (Scanned from a slide)

This is an example of a late 19th century export kimono made for European markets. It has the general shape of a kimono, but it's the size of a haori. It also has the famous Tokugawa three hollyhock kamon, which cemented it as an export kimono. The silk and embroidery are lovely though!
