This is an actual unretouched photo taken of Mount Ranier Today at 2:02 with my fuji finepix. I opened it in photoshop and increased the levels a bit. I started to take out a few of the sensor spots but decided it was more spectacular if I show the original.

Shortly after 11.15am today, Tuesday 26 June 2012, police were called to Shaw following a report that homes had been seriously damaged in a large explosion.
Police, fire and ambulance services are at the scene and a cordon remains in place.
Police can confirm a young child has died and a man has been taken to hospital suffering from significant burns.
Efforts are ongoing to establish whether any other people are trapped.
Superintendent Neil Evans said: "First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family of the child who has tragically died.
"We understand this tragedy has caused a lot of upset and shock in the close-knit community of Shaw. We are in the very early stages of an investigation but our priority at the moment is to try and reach anyone who may be caught up in the explosion.
"Three properties have been involved in a major explosion, and a large-scale response involving the emergency services and other agencies is in place.
"The child's family has been informed and they are being supported by specially trained police officers.
"Another man has been taken to hospital, where he is being treated for what are understood to be 80% burns.
"We are working with Oldham Council to make arrangements for those who may need to remain evacuated.
"This is an ongoing search and rescue operation, and more information will be released when it is available."

This little series shows the demolition of the concrete cooling tower at the Sculcoates Power Station, Hull, East Yorkshire. As you'll see from #4, it didn't quite work out. I don't remember the exact year (1970s) but I do remember running for cover as the cloud of concrete dust rolled across the field.

Our monstera suddenly exploded revealing the delicious inner flesh. There are sweet white kernels which have a taste and texture that kind of remind me of custard apple or maybe even mangosteen.

In my neighborhood, I was afraid to leave it this long but it turned out to be the best one I shot that night.
This is the site of the largest explosion ever on British soil. It occurred on 27th November 1944 when an underground munitions dump exploded at Fauld near the village of Hanbury in Staffordshire.
The crater is quoted as being 120 metres deep and 1200 metres across. Some 75 people died underground, in farms and factories on the surface, partly by water escaping from dams damaged by the explosion.
We visited it on 1st January. One chap we met in the Cock Inn, Hanbury said it blew windows out in Swadlingcote, 10 miles away, It was heard in Birmingham, 32 miles away, and detected by seismologists in Switzerland..
