A Meth Lab exploded in this nasty old boat house down the river. I actually used to think the place had potential until this happened.
Usei:
1 Camada de base fosca anita
2 Camadas do Sand Explosion da Jade

We decided to replicate the Mythbusters experiment of dropping five metos candies into a 2-litre of diet coke...it was a major success.
Another shot courtesy of Flickr user m20wc51, also taken by Major C.B. White, this one of an explosion of some kind. Not sure if this means that the men and machines we can see on the valley floor to the left are actually under serious attack or not. The original shot can be found here , for purposes of comparison. Since the Major seemed to in the Heongseong area when many of the shots were taken, perhaps this too, is in the same general area.
Incidentally, this looks a bit too large for a single shellburst, so if any military viewers can add some actual facts to the discussion, that would be much appreciated.
This shot had a fine layer of dirt which I mostly removed by using automated dust-busting. I also increased the pixel count by about a third to assist with colour and contrast transitions.

Well I finally went back to try explosions again now that my system is more dialed in. the net result is that the system has better resolution but isn't as colorful. I am using the CameraAxe and as I kind of suspected, it isn't fast enough to really catch the first stages of the explosion. Microprocessors have their clock speed to deal with.
The set-up is much more usable though. I bought a sound sensor from Adafruit industries that works really well with the CameraAxe. Setting the trigger level with this set-up is wonderful easy.
Now I have to try and figure out a simple analog solution to get earlier in the event. I's like to make at least a few pictures of interacting shock waves.
This picture used a linear cut-off that has 1D sensitivity. Also check out the repeatability between the two events. Better than it should be.
I'm also using a sacrificial glass to protect the (already damaged by me) mirror.
Cheers.

They demolished two high rise blocks in a massive controlled explosion today in Glasgow. I haven't seen such a thing before and it is difficult for photographs to convey the awesome power of the moment the charges explode.
It was quite a thing to see.
This terrible explosion happened about 15 minutes ago and small explosions are still being heard. This tragic occurance happens every year on this small island which is fireworks mad. My house kept on shaking, all the doors banging with the pressure. We were terrified. I knew it was the fireworks factory because I could hear small explosions from the petards going off. The place is now surrounded by ambulances, police and fire department trucks who may not be able to go too close to it as it's still on fire. I went outside with my camera and I could hear people scream out in fear from neighbouring houses. At that moment you just don't know what's hitting you.
