The Krimml Waterfalls form the highest waterfall in Europe and the fifth highest waterfall in the world. The falls, formed from the Krimmler Ache River, overcome 380 m in three steps. The Krimml Waterfall Trail leads along the waterfalls and offers breathtaking views.
Austrian doctors discovered the healing powers of the Krimml Waterfalls as long as 200 years ago. According to their description, the fine spray helps to heal exterior inflammations and pains caused by debility and weakness. Even nervous ailments can be alleviated or even healed when visiting the waterfalls.
Thank you for looking,

The long exposure made a bit cool expression, it looked like the cliffs were icy, but they were not.

Thanks for your views and Favs!
I arrived well before sunrise on lake Almsee in Austria. The sky was clear and early fog was just starting to lift off the still lake allowing a perfect mirror image of the surrounding trees and mountains.
As the sun began to set, I looked upstream from the waves for a few minutes. No surprise that occupants are being warned of flooding. My favourite part is the Surfer [middle right] who was weighing up how to ride these unusual waves, out of view of the Coastguard, who were there in force! It's always a lovely surprise to feature in Explore - thank you all for your visits, kind comments and favourites, all are very much appreciated!

Summer is a great time for taking photos not only because of wonderful sunsets and sunrises, fresh grass and forests. I also like thunderstorms, the power of it. And of course the wonderful smell of ozone that promises heavy rain very soon.
The picture that I took occasionally while returning from a small picnic on a river bank.
Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends.
Taken on a recent trip to the west coast of Scotland was rewarded with this image after a long wait for heavy showers to stop. Was well worth the wait I was not aware at the time it was a double rainbow.

The Roque de los Muchachos Observatory is is located at about 2'300m MSL on the island of La Palma in the Canary Islands. The observatory site is operated by the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, based on nearby Tenerife and is part of the European North Observatory.
I captured some of of the main instruments of the site under the Milky Way core during my visit of La Palma.
From left to right, the image shows:
- One of the two MAGIC telescopes (Major Atmospheric Gamma Imaging Cherenkov Telescopes). MAGIC detects particle showers released by gamma rays, using the Cherenkov radiation, i.e. faint light radiated by the charged particles in the showers. The MAGIC telescope has a diameter of 17 meters for the reflecting surface.
- The Gran Telescopio Canarias (GranTeCan or GTC), a 10.4 m (410 in) Ritchey-Chrétien reflecting telescope. It is the world's largest single-aperture optical telescope and is used for near-infrared imaging.
- The Large Size Telescope (LST) is a 23 meter reflecting telescope to be featured in the future Northern Site of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA). The prototype of the LST, called LST-1, finished construction and was inaugurated on October 10th, 2018. LST-1 is currently in the commissioning phase. Three more LSTs are planned to be built, finishing construction in mid 2024.
