I had forgotten how cathartic playing about in photoshop can be....and like most things in life I find I get the best results when I don't thing about it too much!

L'ambiance très particulière de cette photo vient de la prise de vue à travers la végétation. Dites moi ce que vous en pensez :)

Deep in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California there are plots of trees grown in these circlesfor research. They make for a a beautiful photo subject.

Kintsugi is a series of interconnected mixed media photo books/zines meant to be read together, though in no particular order. The title refers to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery, where fractures are not concealed but transformed into part of the whole. Similarly, the narrative unfolds in fragments—entries, logs, memos, and notes that, assembled, reveal a larger structure.

The texts document the Habitat and its inhabitants, who, under the supervision of The Vault, tend to the surrounding terrain and to the Shells—enigmatic local forms whose nature remains uncertain. What emerges is a record of observation, repair, and transformation—an act of narrative kintsugi.

Clivia miniata. I dug out my ca. 35 year old prime lens (Asahi Pentax smc 50 mm f1.7 @1.7) and experimented with my full frame Nikon using a short extension tube to see how useful it was.

My photo looked like this, but I added more color. Looks better this way.

This image was an experiment.

This is what happens when you tape two cheap eBay lasers to a drill and walk in the dark trying to avoid tripping over the tripod....

I've been seeing these a lot on flickr, and wanted to try my hand at it. I only did the one exposure to see how it came out. Not that interesting, but fun to do. This is how exciting New Years is at my house. Standing in the backyard swinging Christmas lights around. I'm sure the neighbors thought I was drinking a little too much.

Not a real space photo. Light art. Photoshop manipulations = composite image from 2 exposures, gas clouds/nebula created using Waterworld technique, background/foreground stars from separate image, duplicate layer created, added noise to fill in distant/dense star field, blended back to base layer. Still testing effects.

Experimenting in the morning... These are reflections from my kitchen window on a bottle of Martinelli’s Gold Label Sparkling Cider.
