The new cacti and succulent garden in the Geelong Botanical Gardens.

CASIO's new product EXILIM EX-V8.

My husband reviewed this in the magazine this time.

It's good for takeing movie !

It has "YouTube shooting mode" . Movie can be easily up-loaded to YouTube.

The Movie image quality is also better than other compact digital cameras, I think.

It has a light on the surface to shine on subject, do you see it ?

Shooting mode are tooooooo many so that I can't remember.

A very good result, despite Melody's claims about not being able to cook!

Poached Egg, Smoked Salmon on Biodynamic Rye - Il Fornaio, St Kilda.

Very good poached egg, but the salmon was a bit flat. A nice dollop of dill marscapone added lightness and flavour.

The bread was fantastic, crusty yet not overly chewy and full of the cardboardy rye flavour!

Mum's Bak Kut Teh Dinner

What a spread!

Crows in flight... too many crows gave me the creeps, so i shoo-ed them away! :P

Animated Conversation - Laksa Me

Did he see me, or was he caught up in the discussion! :)

I left my camera on the table with a 2 second delay to try to be inconspicuous.

A bit of a scouting mission to check out Laksa Me. The opinion of The Age Cheap Eats guide can occasionally differ from mine when it concerns Asian food, especially South East Asian food.

Bomboniere handmade by Kim's mum. Each of the "roses" took about an hour to make! 200 dinner guests means 2000 hours worth of work!

Pan friend Salt and Pepper Salmon and Beancurd - 椒盐三文鱼,豆腐.

Julia made a very yummy Boeuf Bourguignon last night! Served with a few spears of asparagus to temper the richness and creamy mash to soak up the sauce.

Here is a recipe that sounds about right.

Dover Castle Hotel, Richmond

Same name as the dodgy backpacker Dover Castle Hotel we stayed in in London, near the Elephant & Castle tube station!

...but hey... we were young, and it was cheap!

... and I will never forget the sickly smell of cheap air freshener and rancid oil for dirty kitchen stoves...

Interesting comments!

At least it is not as sweet as some other "healthy" drinks! :P

Finally, we get to see the ring.

Jacaranda tree in flower outside my house set against a gray backdrop of smoky, hazy skies.

Not only were the skies smoky, you could smell the smoke from the bushfires burning around Mount Buller, several hundred kilometres away!

King Salmon with a sweet and sour sauce with a zing from a red chilli! Excellent fish made even better by Julia. And for a healthy twist, the fish was baked, not deep fried.

Rendang Lamb made with rendang spice paste from Malaysia.

When I first started cooking it, the lemongrass was rather overpowering and too fresh. After simmering for about 30 minutes, all the flavours mellowed and the cloves and cinnamon came to the fore. Excellent spice paste!

Close up.

Slow cooked pork with guacamole, refried beans and rice.

Buffet at the Bellagio.

My 2nd plate of food. There were lots of fresh fish dishes, NZ Red Snapper, Mahi-Mahi tuna with pesto, Cajun Atlantic Salmon. Unfortunately they were all overcooked.

The golden glow is but the lamp... not the rising/setting sun! :P

Not as good as it used to be. The crepes are still as silky, but not as thin and chewy. Perhaps the batter hadn't had enough time to rest so early in the morning.
