Excursion on Beagle channel.
Departure from the local tourist dock, crossing Usuahia`s wide bay, to reach the Beagle Channel through Paso Chico.
There we will sail around Isla de Los Pájaros (Bird island) and Isla de los Lobos (Sea Lions island), where we will observe Skuas, Black Browed Albatross, Steamer Ducks, Cauquenes, Kelp gulls, Grey gulls, Sea Lions one and two hairs.
Both islands belong to the Bridges Archipelago.
Upon arrival at Faro Les Eclaireur (The Iluminators lighthouse), we will be able to see Shags and Cormorant colonies and also share the history of the SS Monte Cervantes Cruise which sank in 1930.
We will continue sailing East enjoying the exquisite scenery of the channel and the surrounding mountains, we will catch sight on the coast of Argentina, Puerto Almanza and on the coast of Chile, Naval Base Puerto Williams. There we will get to Isla Martillo (Hammer Island) where we will have the opportunity to see a colony of Magallanicos Penguins and some specimens of Papua Penguins.
When we reach Estancia Harberton we will take a guided tour. We will arrive approximately at 12 pm. The excursion takes about 3 hours, enjoying the first Natural Reserve in Tierra del Fuego, the shearing shed, the carpentry, the boat house and the main house garden. You can enjoy Manacatush Tea and visit the Birds and Austral Acatushun Marine Mammals Museum. (Tickets for Museum visit are not included).
The Devon Yawl design has evolved over two hundred years from the inshore fishing boats of the south Devon coast and one of England’s oldest racing classes; the Salcombe Yawl. The Devon Yawl is a boat that is fun to own and fun to sail. As an all-weather racer, the boat is fast and responsive, satisfying for both the novice and the expert. She can be single-handed and yet is roomy enough for all the family to enjoy. The weight of the centreplate and ballast contribute to her inherent stability, which coupled with a large sail area gives her an excellent performance. She is truly a performance daysailer. The Devon Dayboat is a derivative with a cuddy based on the same hull and sail plan as the Devon Yawl.

project “Microstories from the landscape” by Sara Maino and Davide Ondertoller
Production Festival Portobeseno 2009
This installation offers short life stories and landscape’s sounds of Alta Vallagarina Valley in Trentino: among them the community of Besenello, the mountain of Scanuppia, the Cavallo/Rossbach river, the old mills of Dietrobeseno and Calliano, the National Road SS 12 near Castelpietra.
The Plexiglas "sound box" is interactive and it can be placed on any kind of support.
There is a map printed inside the box with six buttons.
By pressing the buttons you can listen to two different sounds coming from that point recalling one the people’s memory and the other the sound of the environment respectively. The sound is created inside the doors that close the box.
This installation records the valley’s change orally told by local people. This has a main target: to represent and preserve the memory of those places which are important for a community through researches and creativity.
It invites people to discover a territory, it explores emotional maps, it may suggest and recall new stories and reconstruction of past way of living reassembling fragments of life.
The project “Microstories from the landscape” is a research and a collection of memories of the Vallagarina’s Community started since 2005. It is enriched by reflections on landscape's situational.
The project started in 2005 with a research among elderly living within the Community of Vallagarina and was followed by a collection of stories of life between the '30th an 80th of last century around the area of Beseno's castle.

Photo and link to Howard Kroplick's description of the EX3 at his Vanderbilt Cup website: "As World War I approached, Peugeot importer Alfonse Kaufman shipped an EX3 to the United States for Dario Resta, an established driver in Europe but largely unknown in the United States. The car was overhauled by the Californian mechanical genius, Harry Miller, whose cars would dominate the Indianapolis 500 and other American races during the 1920’s and 1930’s. Preparation of the car continued up to the American Grand Prize which took place two weeks prior to the Vanderbilt Cup Race in February 1915. Both races were part of the celebration of the Pan-Pacific Exposition. The Peugeot appeared at the American Grand Prize without a finishing coat of paint leaving the white primer exposed.
The Peugeot EX3 had a four cylinder engine with a bore of 3.9 inches and a stroke of 7.1 for a total displacement of 340 cubic inches. The precision design included a single iron block and integrated head, unlike previous convention which cast cylinders separately or in pairs. The crankcase was made of aluminum, a new advance in the era.
The chassis design was considered state of the art as well. Key features included lightweight wire wheels and an innovation called “integral flange” hubs to attain new levels of efficiency in speedy service for wheel changes. Like its predecessor the L76, the EX3 was admired for its streamlined bodywork and long tail which help stabilize its handling at high speeds.
The EX3’s tenure on the American racing scene was brief but hugely successful. Not only did the EX3 – in the hands of Resta – win the 1915 Vanderbilt Cup Race, but also the American Grand Prize Race. Resta, however, would move to the newer EX5 for the remainder of the 1915 season and 1916 as well."

Wesleyan Methodist church. 1867-9 by J R N Haswell of North Shields. Dressed local grey limestone rubble with red sandstone and Bathstone dressings. Slate roof with stone coped gable ends and scalloped red clay ridge tiles. High Victorian Gothic style, early French Gothic. Plan: Nave, chancel, transepts, north and south porches at west end, round stair tower on south-west corner and vestry in the east angle of the south transept. Exterior: The gabled west front has 5 lancets on ground floor with hoodmoulds and plate-tracery rose window in moulded 2-centred arch with nook shafts in gable above; the impost on right continues as cornice of the round right-hand corner tower. The string course below the rose window also runs around the tower and there are lancets above it. The tower has a copper-clad conical roof with wrought iron finial. On the left hand corner a large buttress with set-offs and gabled north porch with moulded 2-centred arch doorway on front with plank doors and wrought iron hinges. The right-hand (south) porch is set back behind the tower on the south elevation. The south elevation, including the transept, has lancet windows and the transept has a round window in the gable. The apsidal east end of the chancel has lancets and on the south side the vestry has a lean-to roof from which rises the battered shaft of the stack. North elevation not investigated. Interior: Gallery at west end of nave on iron posts. The nave roof has tie-beam trusses with arch braces on stone corbels and king-posts; the transepts have common rafter roofs with ashlar pieces. Chancel has scissor-braced rafter roof with ashlar pieces. Moulded 2-centred chancel arch on marble colonnettes with capitals and corbels. Moulded 2-centred transept arches. All the main furnishings and fittings are intact including benches, pulpit with traceried panels, reading desk, choir stalls, iron and brass sanctuary rail, wooden altar table. Our Cine kit is ideal for the cinematographer shooting film style on a tripod, dolly or Steadicam. Zacuto was the first to design a camera package using rods behind the camera for mounting and counterbalance. The mount behind the camcorder holds batteries to power the monitor and accessories and provide a counterbalance to offset the weight of the camera and accessories. The Zamerican arm uses Zacuto Z-Release technology to quickly release the monitor or hard drive to make setup and location moves quick and easy. Attach your wireless microphone receiver, down-converters or video transmitters to the wireless plate and you are ready to shoot!
Zacuto's baseplate kits are universal and quick-releasable; they can be used with any 15mm lightweight accessories, follow focuses & matte boxes. The kits are designed to be use with current and future models of cameras & camcorders such as the: Panasonic HVX200a, DVX100a/b, Canon XL-H1, XL2, GL2, XH-A1 Sony XDCAM EX1, EX3, SO-HVR-Z1U, VX2000, PD-150, PD-170, JVC GY-HD100U, HD200U, HD250U, Silicon Imaging SI2K, RED ONE, and many more.
