Back in the late 1980s, AJ & NM Carr of Pluckley had just put into service this wonderful looking ex Yelloways Plaxton Panorama Elite bodied AEC Reliance. WDK 646K was, for a short while, a contemporary of their last ex Black & White Daimler Roadliner in service . . . the two having no doubt met up at Cheltenham when much younger.
A few days later, I was fortunate enough to capture the ex Yelloways Reliance at work on a private hire in Rye, with Mrs Carr at the helm (posted elsewhere on here). Oddly, whilst the Roadliner still exists in their yard, the AEC is no more. I think its remains were once resident in a famous Kentish dealer's yard.

Allies and Morrison Studio, London, England
What an interesting day yesterday on Flickr, it seems that the Open House building of the day yesterday was 55 Baker Street and I can understand why. Its such a wonderful and captivating building, especially for us photographers. It was really interesting to see other photographers version and interpretations of the image I uploaded yesterday and of course the other parts of the building. This is why I really like the week following Open House London as I am really interested in what other photographers have visited and what they upload.
Anyway this was the second building that Mark Hepples and I visited on the Sunday. Being an architects studio you expect I really nice building and it didn't disappoint. Full of clean lines and bright airy spaces. Also utilising modern building materials and also modern technology to make environmentally friendly. At the centre of this building was this beauty! Not one of the easiest spiral staircases I have taken mind as I couldn't go to the bottom of the staircase and also with it being quite a short spiral staircase but non the less I thought the way it was lit up was awesome. I believe the building got a RIBA award in 2004.
I want your opinions, I am not sure if it will work better as a square crop or keep it like this? I can't decide which I prefer but might upload a square one later and see what you think.

OK had this ex-South Yorkshire Atlantean re-registered - not because Colin Winston Gartside (born on July 23 and married to Vicky) fancied the number for his GTI, but for something far more belligerent than that.
OK had steadfastly refused to allocate fleet numbers to buses, firmly believing that the registration number alone was sufficient to identify each vehicle. And such steadfastness could also be described as bloody-minded obstinacy, when it came to how they dealt with Tyne and Wear PTE's introduction of standardised ticket machines across all fleets for data collection purposes. A specific number had to be allocated to each bus's machine - for everybody else this was the same as the fleet number. OK, however, used the numerical digits from the registration instead; and where there was a clash of numbers, they just went and re-registered one of the vehicles to get around the problem. This was one of several buses so treated.
OK would eventually be bought out by Go-Ahead who operated them as a separate unit for a time. Fleet numbers were allocated in the Go Ahead series without a second thought.
