Pattern source: Knitting Vintage Socks / Nancy Bush
Yarn: Rowan 4 Ply Soft, 3 x 50 g, in shade Victoria
Needles: 2,5 mm
Modifications: I made the leg longer by adding 7 (!) pattern repeats (my legs are not that long!), shortened the heel flap (34 rows instead of 40 in the pattern), and in the toe I added some rows between the decrease rows.

A thumbs up from a paraglider pilot before his launch for another flight from Truleigh Hill. The wind wasn't right to keep him aloft for long, but the whoops of joy on the way down showed he enjoyed his trip, the long walk back up, probably less so.

Dewdrops, Nature's tears, which she
Sheds in her own breast for the fair which die.

When he is gone, poor Nature loves to weep.

The Canada Malting silos are an important example of modernist industrial architecture- - -stark functionalism and the use of concrete were important innovations. The original 15 silos were built in 1928 and are 120 feet / 37 metres tall. A subsequent addition in 1944, added more storage, with the silos reaching 150 feet / 46 meters. The silos ceased operations in the 1980's. Demolition of ancillary buildings / equipment began in 2010. The silos will remain standing but there are no development plans for the site.

"Orchids symbolize love and beauty. Every year the Chicago Botanic Garden hosts a night called "Evening with Orchids" where the gardens stay open late for happy hour, snacks, and night-time viewing. We get together each year with a group of friends to attend. At the end of the night, we find and share our favorite orchid among hundreds of rare varieties. Love and beauty!"
