An evening shower (or two) broke out during the golden moments near sunset between a wide array of cloud types basking in the orange glows of filtered rays of sunlight.
Alternative names for the photograph:
Orange Rain
Cumulonimbus
Best when viewed in LIGHTBOX.
A red tailed hawk sits on an old tree on the outskirts of Bellingham, Washington, watching the field below for mice and snakes scurrying around in the last light of the day.
I posted a similar shot once before that wasn't very good. This time the moon was out, there was an orange glow from the setting sun and the hawk was more active. Also, the hawk let me get closer before he flew away.
Update: for a while today, this shot was sitting in the #6 spot for interestingness for Feb. 10, 2006. It has since bounced around between #8 and #12. That's the highest any of my pics have ranked so far. (Yeah, I know... interestingness changes constantly and isn't the be-all end-all, but it's still fun to see one of my own go that high on the list.)
-Added to the Cream of the Crop pool as most "favorited."
An evening sky crowns a view along Monegan Road to the southeast of Whitefish, Montana, 20 miles west of Glacier National Park. The Whitefish Range rises beyond.

I titled this photo "Evening walk", but actually it's only afternoon. During winter in Sweden, the sun sets pretty early in the day. This day I was actually a bit nervous that it would go down too fast, so that I wouldn't find my way back. The snow was pretty deep and I wasn't really in the mood for wandering around in the snow in the dark.
Colorado Springs, CO - Mrs. Evening Grosbeak rests on a branch shortly before her after meal departure ...
It is not the Moon, it is the Venus.
I took this photo from the balcony last night at 10:38 p.m. and only 10 minutes later Venus had already disappeared behind the horizon.
In addition to the 300mm I used a 1.7x teleconverter in front of the lens here.
Distance to the larger wind turbine in foreground 10km and only 45 million to Venus ;-)
Finishing this session with an evening gown. Don't have much of a chest to work with but somehow it stayed up lol.
Also if you notice, this is the first wig I ever bought and posted with my first face reveal, so I figured it was a personal achievement of how far I've come since 2018. Who knows what the future may hold...

Saturday evening. Bottle of Prosecco, strawberries & cream and chocolates, with a chick-flick or two.
Question is, should I stay relaxed or put a dress on?
Another capture from my ill fated evening when I got stuck. I was determined not to waste the time whilst waiting for the AA.
By the way the car in perfectly fine.

A native biennial that blooms late Spring to Mid-summer and supports and feeds moths, bats and evening pollinators. Info per sign placed nearby by the city in new plantings along a walk trail. Very low to the ground, had a hard time getting down and hand holding.
On the way to "Central" the other evening....just had to stop as the light was so lovely.
No textures today either.
Edited to say it's looking a bit over sharpened

I camped by this lake in a secluded spot. The clouds looked ominous but it was a very calm and enjoyable evening. The clouds soon gave way to a clear and crisp night. I slept well!
This evening grosbeak is very particular about the company he keeps and he does not appreciate uninvited guests, especially when they 'drop in' on his favorite perch.
These birds are resident in New Brunswick but they are relatively uncommon. The best place to find them is in rural areas in the winter when they will sometimes visit feeders.
An interesting fact about evening grosbeaks is that they provide for smaller finches. According to the Cornell Lab, the massive beaks of the evening grosbeak "can crush seeds that are too large for Common Redpolls and Pine Siskins to open. These smaller birds often seek out the grosbeaks and glean the food scraps they leave behind."
Yet another photo taken the other evening at the beach -you will be sick of them by the time I have finished posting the ones I took :-)
