Evening Grosbeaks (Coccothraustes vespertinus) are large, robust and noisy. They are easy to spot while they are crunching the seeds at feeders. In their home range, their numbers are declining at alarming rates. Unfortunately, since 1967, the population of these rare visitors has declined seventy-eight percent, from 17 million to 3.8 million.

We've been having a heck of a time trying to upload photos the past three weeks, so Dad downloaded Flickr's Uploader app to the desktop and voila! Instant uploading. Hopefully this will end our troubles.
This photo was from our late afternoon walk yesterday. Times (literally) have changed recently and now our weekday walks will take place at this time instead of evenings for the coming winter.

A beautiful evening view at Tyinkrysset, Nystuen, Vang, Innlandet, Norway at 22:45. No time to go to sleep with this wonderful sky and view. No spectacular colors, but soft sunset light over the mountains🌞
A silent evening in the beautiful area of Romsdalen in Norway, captured about a week ago! The afterglow lasted for a very long time, so I was in no hurry capturing this scene. A nice evening for landscape photography!
Bluebells are up in our local woods but not as dramatic this year as I have seen them in the past - perhaps its a bit early yet on account of the cold weather we have been having.
Continuation of the series - at the seaside
Late evening, the sun has gone to sleep.
The sun's lost rays still color the horizon, but the blue shadows of the night already rule the seashore.
A great time for a photographer and dreams.

The two SD40-2s are notched up to get the 50 car train up to speed after meeting a Keetac load at MP 15.9. Most of the cars are bentonite loads for the Range. The 1832 and 1964 will spend their work week out of Kelly Lake delivering the cars to the BNSF Iron Range customers. This train has been running Monday evenings lately to get the Kelly Lake Local's power and cars to the Range to start the local's cycle
