Description: Etching is a process that I introduced as an idea to my school, which they now include in their GCSE classes. This is one of my first etchings, a process that can really show rough textures and simple lines which really add to the overall selection of emotions it portrays to the viewer.

I worry about the image of a blister coming to mind.

an etching plate where i placed a small fire on top of it causing the resist (a thin layer of wax that stops acid) to melt then i etched it into acid leaving behind the trace of the fire.
Rembrandt and Jan Lievens both tackled the subject of the raising of Lazarus. The impetus was possibly receiving the commission for the Passion series. They also made etchings after their paintings. In Rembrandt's etching, Christ commands Lazarus to rise from the dead with a raised arm. The bystanders recoil, filled with disbelief. Lievens reduced Lazarus to his outstretched hands and emphasises Christ's divinity with a halo.

In the end, I didn't like the etchings from the colored paper I'd brought so I found a piece of scrap wood and etched that instead.
