I found a copper plate in our studio that had already been prepared for the line etch, so I didn't document the earlier part of the process. Here, I'm inking the plate already. Please visit my blog for a more detailed description of the process.

Etching Display Case - Waterford Crystal Factory. Dawn likes the vase on the second shelf from the top, on the far right. Etching takes a very long time - that vase is more than a week's work for an etcher. And they are priced accordingly!

Everything drawn on with a sharpie, ready to be dropped in the etching solution.

We both found these dandelions so real , they were excellent so unique.

Ruth produces highly finished metal and glass sculptures inspired by the plant kingdom. In her work she aims to draw your attention to both the overall spectacle and individual beauty of a flower, and she does it extremely well.

As well as her metal sculptures she has produced two bodies of work using float glass.Ruth starts with the original flower layered between the glass, and her most recent pieces use images and etchings, each panel depicts the beauty in a range of British wild flowers and replicates the profusion in which they are found naturally.

Ruth's artworks are limited editions, she has created numerous commissions and her work features in corporate, institutional and private collections both internationally and across the UK.

We really enjoyed her work, it's stunning, check out her web-site www.ruthmoillet.com

Worked on this today. Found the plate around the shop so that's where the lines came from.

The tone was achieved with soft ground. I'm not sure if I'm going to add any more to this or if this is just going to be a subtle layer in my (multiple plate) print.
