I found a copper plate in our studio that had already been prepared for the line etch, so I didn't document the earlier part of the process. Here, I'm inking the plate already. Please visit my blog for a more detailed description of the process.
Etching Display Case - Waterford Crystal Factory. Dawn likes the vase on the second shelf from the top, on the far right. Etching takes a very long time - that vase is more than a week's work for an etcher. And they are priced accordingly!

Worked on this today. Found the plate around the shop so that's where the lines came from.
The tone was achieved with soft ground. I'm not sure if I'm going to add any more to this or if this is just going to be a subtle layer in my (multiple plate) print.
Scarlet roughed up with a bit of sepia. Too bad you can't really tell the difference between the sepia and black.
This etching was my first, and is now up for <a href="http://is.gd/jtfy"auction on eBay with all proceeds to be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009. The auction ends around 9pm on the 17th of February.
Richard at the Stained Glass Cabinet Company in Acme, MI etching glass on a stone wheel that is over a century old. This is a venue you must stop at if you are ever in the Traverse City area.
This is a picture collection that DENISE ROMAN is very few. I think that the existence is a valuable book though it still obtains by the new article. Her typical work until 2003 is published.
Jennifer's work is based on moving twenty times within the past twenty years. She has twenty panels with collected fabric that is sewn together. Each panel is a different year, with symbols for different roomates, and a different home. The titles are all going to be the address of her home at the time.
