Becky Lause - Pleasant Hill Elementary School
For a class on illness and photography, part of my work to complete my BFA, I created this project titled School Nurses/Essential Workers: From Scraped Knees to Global Pandemics. I photographed 66 school nurses throughout Des Moines in their school offices and clinics, just a small way to highlight their important but often overlooked work during the pandemic as they continued assisting with the health care needs of students, teachers, and families.

Three essential pieces of time-tested mobile gear. The black dongle delivers up to 7 megabits per second in most parts of centre city Dublin. The 3G SIM makes this possible, along with the dongle's antenna. And the Nokia E90 can serve up 3.5G speeds effortlessly.
Basil Essential Oil by dĹŤTERRA brand is of high quality. dĹŤTERRA basically emphasizes on purity of the product. This herbal oil is mostly used for respiratory, muscular, and joint support.
The essential four:
1) key to get back into the house
2) passport
3) credit card
4) extra memory card for your digital camera
"And the toothbrush?" I hear you ask? Well... you can by THAT everywhere and anywhere...but finding a memory card for your camera might be troublesome...

A camera toss series. I hadn't done any of these in a long time and thought it good to revisit the bare essentials considering it was a camera I had not used for the technique yet. A single white LED provides the light source, exposures vary from .7sec to 2sec. What is produced is essentially an inverted physiogram (inverted in that it illustrates camera motion rather than subject motion) and can tell you alot about the movement possible with a given model of camera.
I also had been meaning to do this simplistic series for a while, because I feel achieving something aesthetically wonderful does not require an overly complicate light source, the beauty is ultimately due to the motion.
All images in this series are directly from my Kodak Easyshare 3.1mp camera, no hotoshop, no cropping or manipulation other than image rotation.

I wanted to believe there could be something within you that was so essential and so courageous that nothing could tarnish or rob you of it. And if you hed that kind of unbreakable core, not only would it always be yours, but even in your darkest moments others would see it in you, and help you out before the worse became the absolute worst.
. . . When you think you see something so fundamentally worthwhile in someone else, you don't look for the reasons that might keep it out of your life. You commit to being strong enough to build your life around it, no matter what.
In doing so, you begin to become the thing you admire.
. . . Nobody can tell you what your potential is.
~ Homer's Odyssey, by Gwen Cooper
I was surprised by how enjoyable, interesting and inspiring this book is - I laughed out loud, I learned, and I was inspired -
