Roll the clock back and these three items were essentials of moving west in 1700s. Rope, horn and burlap.
A karantén miatt itthon, tanulom azokat az új szoftvereket, amiket karácsonyra kaptam a gyerekeimtől.
Ezt Corel 6 Painterrel csináltam - nekem tetszik.
Because of the quarantine at home, I'm learning the new softwares I got from my kids for Christmas.
I did this with a Corel 6 painter - I like it.
Inadequate preparation often leaves us ill-equipped to handle life's unexpected challenges, much like bringing an umbrella to go underwater. This mismatch between our preparations and the realities we face can stem from a lack of foresight, misunderstanding of the situation, or simply wishful thinking. We may plan based on our comfort zones or past experiences, assuming they will suffice in new circumstances. However, life's unpredictability demands adaptability and the readiness to reassess and adjust our plans. Without the proper tools or mindset, we can find ourselves floundering in the deep, uncharted waters of our journey, learning the hard way that what we thought was essential may be entirely irrelevant.
In downtown Atlanta, Georgia, an artist (unknown to me) has incorporated these fire-hose connecting handles to his/her colorful graphic image.

I have been deeply moved by your warm welcomes and support for my return to posting here on Flickr after the difficulties I have faced. It is not often that I am left speechless but I am struggling to find the words to express just how much it means to me. You have all made a difference. Thank you.
Take care.
I love the tradition (and the taste!) of fresh breads and baguettes in France and some other European countries. A simple, daily pleasure:)

A silver Crescent wrench with gold reflections for this week's Looking Close on Friday theme: "Gold & Silver"

In 1907, a Swedish immigrant and inventor Karl Peterson founded the Crescent Tool Company, and soon after introduced what is billed as America’s first open-end adjustable wrench.
Today part of the Apex Tool Group, the Crescent wrench can be found in many toolboxes, including mine, and has a reputation for proven reliability. According to crescenttool.com, Charles Lindbergh, after his historic transatlantic flight in 1927, was quoted as saying that he carried only “gasoline, sandwiches, a bottle of water and a Crescent wrench and pliers.”

One for the 365 treasure hunt, number 24 Essential ... what could be more essential than water ... and anti-bac soap in the background :)
Just a simple candid street style snap taken at Canterbury Kent UK. While I was wandering around I saw this guy taking a nap and thought it was worth a shot. Later I noticed the sign so hence the title Essential Nap.
"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to put amongst their "FAVES".
"THANK YOU KINDLY" to anyone who finds this shot good enough to leave a "Comment", I'll do my very best to reply to you individually.
When all the world appears to be in a tumult, and nature itself is feeling the assault of climate change, the seasons retain their essential rhythm. Yes, fall gives us a premonition of winter, but then, winter, will be forced to relent, once again, to the new beginnings of soft greens, longer light, and the sweet air of spring.

Three days after heading West, the matched EMDs of 1687 & 1458 returned home to Northtown from Grand Forks.
The pair wasn't alone on this trip though. KCS 4009, the "Resilient & Essential KCS Heroes" commemorative locomotive trailed third. Neat to see a "special unit" come up here, let alone KCS in general.
And that primer door? Photoshop fixed that. Makes a world of difference.
