It seems all that a bear needs is one good tree to shimmy up if he feels the need. I think this is a youngish black bear who I found up in a tree this morning midway down the hill from my house, probably 20 feet up. I had the advantage of being uphill and not too far away, but please know that I was in a completely safe position with a little barn a few feet away. I would never stick around and try to photograph a bear without complete access to safety!
If anyone has feelings about the age, I am very interested to know what they think. I did see a small cub and mother back in the beginning of June. This bear does not seem to have any adult around him.
I hope all are well and enjoying the summer's end. Thank you for any comments and taking the time to stop by!
Although cold in the middle of the winter is granted, those rare sunny days we get, should cherish and collect all that vitamin the sun provides and manifest the D to come into our lives! x xD
A common moth, very small but the patterns and their symmetry is key to their camouflage and survival.

I generally do not like portrait orientation for 'landscapes', but once in a while it is essential. As we walked to Virginia Falls at Glacier National Park, Virginia Creek flowed next to the trail for short distances at some points. The roar of the water here created by the creek and the beautiful background made for an unforgettable moment.

For me maintaining a calm state of mind is essential. I have bipolar disorder. It has sometimes made me extremely ill.
Many years after my first hospitalised episode I discovered my diagnosis. I researched the illness and created my own self-management plan to stay well.
I have been free of episodes for nearly 20 years. Photography is an essential part of my plan.

Dandelion hatred is kind of ironic given the widespread concern about declining pollinators. Dandelion flowers are favorite nectar sources for honeybees, butterflies, and moths. Butterfly and moth caterpillars also eat the leaves. Dandelions are essential for tea, salads, wine, medicine, etc. Give dandelions a second chance and some long-awaited love, even when they're dead. Love these beautiful puffballs! (Click Large and feel the softness!)
Thank you very much for your kind comments and visit, much appreciated!

... however, if you do not recognize thoughts as soon as they arise, they will naturally spread, - this is called the chain of delusion, the root of samsara. Mere recognition of thoughts as they arise breaks their flow.
Found this small wine glass in the china closet that has a ‘fractured glass’ treatment of some sort. I don’t know how this is done but it looks awesome and gives you a sense that it will simply break in your hand if you use it spilling that precious elixir. I played around with it a bit to see how to present it to stay within the size limits. Submittal for the Aug 24,2020 Macro Monday’s theme of “Glass.”
