“Public spaces have been essential to my work for many years, because they have this tremendous capacity to connect people not only with art, but also with the great architecture that surrounds it, and with one another,” said Jaume Plensa. “When Stephen Ross asked me to create a new, large-scale sculpture for the lobby of 30 Hudson Yards, I said yes immediately. The eleven spheres that make up Voices are composed of letters from eight different alphabets, to inspire people with the idea that while we come from many places and many cultures, we are here as one community.”

For me maintaining a calm state of mind is essential. I have bipolar disorder. It has sometimes made me extremely ill.
Many years after my first hospitalised episode I discovered my diagnosis. I researched the illness and created my own self-management plan to stay well.
I have been free of episodes for nearly 20 years. Photography is an essential part of my plan.

from Wikipedia:
"A mineral lick (also known as a salt lick) is a place where animals can go to lick essential mineral nutrients from a deposit of salts and other minerals. Natural licks are common, and they provide essential elements such as phosphorus and the biometals (sodium, calcium, iron, zinc, and trace elements) required for bone, muscle and other growth in herbivorous mammals such as deer, moose, elephants, hippos, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, tapirs, woodchucks, fox squirrels, mountain goats, porcupines, and frugivorous bats. Such licks are especially important in ecosystems such as tropical rainforests and grasslands with poor general availability of nutrients."
WITH LESS THAN 2000 still living in the wild according to the IUCN Red List the Grevy's Zebra is listed as ENDANGERED
It is the tallest of all zebras and of all living species of wild equids. Some of the distinctive features are well visible in this image:
A large and long head with huge ears that are round
Narrow and closely spaced stripes
No stripes on the belly
A tall and erect mane that extends into a black stripe on the top of the body

Found this small wine glass in the china closet that has a ‘fractured glass’ treatment of some sort. I don’t know how this is done but it looks awesome and gives you a sense that it will simply break in your hand if you use it spilling that precious elixir. I played around with it a bit to see how to present it to stay within the size limits. Submittal for the Aug 24,2020 Macro Monday’s theme of “Glass.”

The Greyhound is an ancient and noble breed renowned as the fastest dog on Earth, but also famous for being a docile "45-mph couch potato" in the home. They make calm, affectionate, and low-maintenance family pets for the right household.
Key Characteristics
Speed:
Greyhounds can reach speeds of up to 45 mph (72 km/h) in just a few strides, thanks to their unique, aerodynamic build, deep chest, flexible spine, and long, powerful legs.
Temperament:
Despite their athletic prowess, Greyhounds are gentle, sensitive, and quiet dogs. They are non-aggressive, typically get along well with people and other dogs, and are known for their calm, even-tempered nature indoors.
Exercise Needs:
They are built for sprinting, not endurance, and require surprisingly little exercise—around an hour of daily activity, ideally split into two shorter walks with the chance for a supervised sprint in a securely fenced area.
Prey Drive:
As sighthounds, they have a strong instinct to chase fast-moving objects (like squirrels or rabbits). For this reason, they should generally remain on a lead in open public spaces and a secure, high-fenced garden is essential.
Greyhounds are one of the oldest breeds in history, appearing in ancient Egyptian art dating back to 4000 BCE and the only dog breed mentioned by name in the Bible.
We intended going up for day gas to see the normal SD70ACe pair, but a surprise came when we saw it come west with the essential workers unit trailing, meaning it would lead back east later. In this photo, we got a break in the clouds, and the 4404 leads Day Gas east, sweeping around the curve near Plains. An unexpected, but very welcome sight.
