For me maintaining a calm state of mind is essential. I have bipolar disorder. It has sometimes made me extremely ill.
Many years after my first hospitalised episode I discovered my diagnosis. I researched the illness and created my own self-management plan to stay well.
I have been free of episodes for nearly 20 years. Photography is an essential part of my plan.
RKO_1295. World Elephant Day!
A large family of beautiful elephants arrived at the Chobe river to lessen their thirst!
How awesome to see the young elephants enjoying the water! Hopefully they have a future!

... for a HMBT !
... however, if you do not recognize thoughts as soon as they arise, they will naturally spread, - this is called the chain of delusion, the root of samsara. Mere recognition of thoughts as they arise breaks their flow.
Found this small wine glass in the china closet that has a ‘fractured glass’ treatment of some sort. I don’t know how this is done but it looks awesome and gives you a sense that it will simply break in your hand if you use it spilling that precious elixir. I played around with it a bit to see how to present it to stay within the size limits. Submittal for the Aug 24,2020 Macro Monday’s theme of “Glass.”
Macro with an angle lens. Who says that a macro lens is essential to take close-up photographs. This photograph is taken with a 12mm Leica lens at f2.0 (24mm FF equivalent) and at a distance of about 6 centimeters from the edge of the lens. I think it is another way to take close-up photos taking advantage of what you have, the advantage is that it integrates better into the landscape, the disadvantage is that it is more difficult to isolate the main subject. These specimens were about 3 centimeters high.

But then I forgot the map
Man, I’m really lost.
My keychain safety items: 1) Cash canister with $20 note in case I'm ever standed in Arizona and need money for a beer and cheeseburger, 2) My trusty multi function Victorinox knife in case I need to cut down a tree to make a fire, 3) A mini LED flashlight in case I find myself in absolute darkness and need to see what’s biting my leg, and 4) A whistle in case I fall off a trail, roll down a steep ridge past a big log and get wedged under thick brushes next to a mosquito infested creek.......and need to get someone's attention.
