In late 2020, at the height of the COVID pandemic, Montana Rail Link wrapped their SD70ACe no. 4404 in this special scheme honoring Essential Workers. Unfortunately, after five years of service in and out of the tunnels of the line, the bold, patriotic look of the unit has acquired the same drab look of a stereotypical Southern Pacific unit.
Regardless of its appearance, when I heard that there was "an" MRL unit outside of the Topeka Shops, I ran out to photograph it, even if it was buried mid-consist. The fact that it was THIS MRL unit made it even better!
It may not look great anymore, but its cool to see these MRL units in my neighborhood, and I hope that the rumors of its PTC installation are true. That being said, lets not lose track of the message of this unit in that there were a lot of people back in 2020-21 who continued to go out each and every day doing yeoman's work to keep this world going, and good on 'em.

A beautiful park called Eagle Point Park sits high on a bluff overlooking the banks of the Mississippi River in Dubuque, Iowa. The Park has many overlooks, picnic areas, limestone buildings, a very historic park indeed. There is a pond made of the limestone rock and its fully stocked with beautiful fish. Nice to see that the office waxwings weren't furloughed this year. If I have to show up, so should they.
Get your essentials from the street hawker, and let's take in some of the places and things that are essential for any first time visit to China. Be warned though, that you will be dragged through merchants' stores where high pressure selling of over priced knock off rubbish is almost impossible to avoid. Capitalism is alive and well in Communist China. I refused to enter these establishments on my second visit; I hated these places.

On the night of July 3, 2022 I sat in my daughters front yard that overlooks the city of Dubuque, Iowa. The fireworks are shot over the Mississippi River at quite a distance from where we were watching them being fired up into the night sky. I used many settings on my camera, sports, landscape, creative auto. etc. I got some amazing images that make many of the fireworks look abstract and not your usual fireworks display. In the never ending profits chase the bean counters would like to scrap ticket offices. Station staff don't only sell tickets, they have a presence which deters lurking youth and, as here, attend to unforeseen problems including 8cm of snow.
172001 is leading 2S30 the 10.45 Kidderminster to Stratford-upon-Avon service as it approaches Yardley Wood station.

Had a lovely couple of hours wandering around the gardens at Nymans (National Trust). I was only using a 60mm macro and it was a bit breezy, but the sun was out.
With the current cost of living, it was a tough choice between buying these groceries or a penthouse on the upper East side.
