I believe taking a few pictures whilst walking is harmless, and is essential for well-being. Let us not throw the baby out with bathwater

Lots of food photos were taken this week. Food is not my favourite subject but dark chocolate is definitely one of my favourite food groups. I have some with a cup of coffee daily when we sit down for our evening telly. This is one of several bars of interesting chocolate given by my husband for a valentine. He knows my heart. Unfortunately there wasn't much art to find in it this time.

Nothing is essential red just a pun on colour, a pun on life, a pun on composition. Creation is red in my guts, glasses through which I try to see life.

They're pretty far from the most interesting animal to photograph, but they have to be the animal most associated with Yellowstone. Bison bull, Yellowstone National Park.
Hi friends,
I have been on a journey, but not a photographic one. About two weeks ago I had successful open heart surgery to replace a heart valve. I am now biomechanical.
The surgery date was planned. A decision arose – if you knew this image might be the last you share with the living world, what image would you chose?
Why would it even matter though, right? As I sat on my recovery bed in the hospital, reading the book “Essentialism”, I came to the same conclusion I did pre-surgery – photography is one of those few essentials to me, and interacting with my close photographic friends is an important part of that.
I am on the other side now. Under quiet conditions, I can hear my heartbeat through the clicking of my mechanical valve, a reminder of my finite existence. My desire to create is as strong as ever, and I thank you for our journey together.
