Late night, tired and needing a shot, I lay my kilt on the bathroom floor, and had Tal pose for some shots, while i composed and focused, then i wiggled under the tripod to do this self portrait.
A study of motion, watching my dog keep his pace well into his 12th year of life is inspiring, such a fantastic breed and amazing friend. I know he won't be here with us for long, but each day is a wonder, and so grateful for this amazing friendship.
After a quick lunch, looking up. Trying to follow up on rule 1, and 2... Get close, Then closer, and thats the day shot.
Atop Sugerloaf Mountain, after some good wine down at the vineyard. Good light, and great background, moment captured.
Keep smiling even when not in focus. May your glass always be full, and health and happiness follow you to where your heart is content. Safe Travel
Driving at night, light passes by and time sure does fly. This shot is from a more cinematic perspective, noisy and dark.
While looking for a fresh new slope we came across this great snow man, suddenly the sisters were quite, as they gazed up at the great guardian of the slopes.
Another snow day here, and back from work early so I can be a kid again, sledding laughing and having a great time with my amazing daughters.
Walking along the creek, enjoying the beautiful snow blanket that was set overnight. It was such a beautiful sunny morning, here at the bend of the creek I stood, sharing the warm rays of sun with the naked trees before walking back. Press L
Ending the day on the banks of the Potomac river, is a fantastic way to say farewell to light and welcome night.
HDR, tonemapped 3 shots for this one, still trying to find a good balance for tonemapping.
Great big sky, and great big Milk cows.
I just loved the look on this beautiful cow.
No MILK for you!
Little Stony Man hike, with my 7yo, she did great on another great hike. We sat for a bit at the peak of the Little Stony Man Trail watching the guys set up the climbing gear in the cold wind. The view was perfect, as was the company.
Walking along the frozen lake, these were the only 2 people other then me.

Headed down mid day to DC, and walked around the WWII and FDR Memorials. Mid day is not the best for shooting, but still some good shadows and shapes. The FDR Memorial is a great space, moving and thought provoking even for the little ones. Tip: go at night, lots of waterfalls and great light.
One of todays tasks was to get a self portrait which i needed for work. Not an easy task for me, I find creating a shot more fulfilling and there I have an idea of what feel i am looking for. This is my take on a modern minimalistic self portrait, and will be cropped to fit constraint needs, it is a shot and it did get me working so it is here, day 127.
...and may we never be thirsty.
Party of friends, laughter, good food, great spirits, clinking of glass and extremely high ISO... lets make some Noise... ;)
Health and Joy to all.

The devision of light when day turns to night,
where nature ends and power lines grow to heavens hight.
The eternal devision inside, conflicting and choosing light.

The prophet Zechariah taught of a king of Jerusalem, stating "Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey.[Zech 9:9]
Zechariah is depicted on Michelangelo's ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

Tried to catch a flight on standby tonight, there where 13 available seats when I left my home, by the time I arrived at the gate, there where 3 Canceled flights, and an angry mob trying to get unstuck. At least I get to sleep in my bed, and try again.
In and out, no end, thats Air transit. Dawn at BWI waiting standby for a flight that never came to fruition. Thank you D, and sorry Y.
Dawn and BWI.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken:
The crownless again shall be king.

The sun is setting and cant be seen, only reflecting rooftops can see the beautiful sunset. Catching the last sun reflection of the day.
I took a drive out to Germantown in the hopes of catching another sunset, but the heavy clouds thought otherwise. Still the sun's great light set the gray clouds a blaze, but with a muted gray scale, so I went with it.
3 shots tonemapped
I was lucky to catch the last of the sun today from a favorite spot of mine. I was hoping to catch some horses in open fields as the sun was setting, for some good silhouettes but the freakishly cold weather kept them in the stables. Got set up on the banks of the Potomac just as the sun was disappearing, while checking my Live View I noticed this star of david on some of my bracketed shots. Was it my Cokin ND Grad filter, or my lens together with small aperture that made this david star like sun?
