Error by Vendel & de Wolf, the very big art installation at Westferry Circus as part of the 2025 Winter Lights at Canary Wharf. I'd got shots of this work on my Lumix the week previously when we had visited with friends but I couldn't seem to get a good shot then. So giving it a second go I was more pleased with the shots taken on my Canon DSLR.

A tweaked up night shot to try to get the lighting I want with what I have. I used a flashlight that night to do some light painting and it was a bit of trial and error. I used Lr and Ps to try to edit in some pop without over doing it.

doing a lot of photoshop these days. we recently painted this room, i think the walls kind of look like pea. but a nice pee. this was created with one old dusty white balloon that i found and blew up.. and there are errors because my photoshop has something to be desired but happy that i've gotten to shoot&upload in the same day for the past few days. white balance is overrated.

Sin duda alguna el acto de mayor calado popular de las Fiestas del Pilar, es la Ofrenda de Flores que tiene lugar a lo largo del 12 de octubre, el Día del Pilar. Desde primera hora de la mañana cientos de miles de ciudadanos, aragoneses, de otras comunidades y de todo el mundo, ataviados con sus trajes regionales (único requisito para participar), desfilan ante la Virgen para depositar a sus pies millones de flores traídas como homenaje a la patrona de los aragoneses y de la comunidad hispana. Durante todo el día casi se puede palpar en el ambiente la alegría de quienes acuden a rendir su pequeño homenaje, en forma de flor, a la Virgen del Pilar.

Antecedentes
Los antecedentes de la Ofrenda hay que buscarlos en los años cuarenta del siglo XX, en los que el Camarín de la Virgen se adornaba los días de las fiestas. Claveles, rosas y nardos perfumaban la Santa Capilla. Pero es en 1958, ocupando la alcaldía Luis Gómez Laguna, cuando el concejal de fiestas Manuel Rodelesintrodujo en el programa un acto popular y de participación, semejante a las ofrendas florales que se celebran en el Levante español.

Primera Etapa
El domingo 12 de octubre de 1958 se desarrolló la primera Ofrenda de Flores a la Virgen del Pilar.Durante las dos horas que duró aquella primera edición desfilaron unas 2.000 personas.
Para esta primera Ofrenda, en la que se situó una réplica de la Virgen en la fachada principal del templo, el Ayuntamiento adquirió en Tortosa varios miles de claveles. En 1960 ya se considera "tradicional". En 1964 es motivo principal de las portadas de los extraordinarios de la prensa. Ese año la cifra de flores queaportó el Ayuntamiento fue 8.000 docenas de claveles; el año siguiente, más de 5.000 personas (la mayoría mujeres y niños) y más de 12.000 docenas de ramos dan idea della fuerza de arraigo de esta actividad.
Sin duda el éxito de la Ofrenda de Flores contribuyó a que las del Pilar fueran declaradas en 1965 "Fiestas de Interés Turístico Nacional".

Segunda Etapa
Con la llegada de los Ayuntamientos democráticos, la Ofrenda de Flores, que para entonces ya era el paradigma de la tradición de las Fiestas del Pilar,se reinterpretó como un acto de reafirmación de la identidadaragonesa, con el compromiso de participación por parte de una inmensa mayoría de zaragozanos, como muestra que en 1980 más de 50.000 ciudadanos participasen en ella.

Tercera Etapa
En 1998, el cineasta Bigas Luna, gran conocedor de la fiesta y la ciudad, animó a cambiar la ubicación a otro ángulo de la Plaza del Pilar y el resultado fue más que satisfactorio. La Virgen se situó en el centro de la bandeja de la Plaza, con lo que la Ofrenda ganó es espectacularidad y en superficie de manto: la superficie que se teje de flores tiene 55 metros de profundidad, 18 de anchura y más de 15 metros de alto.
La Ofrenda ha seguido creciendo con un ritmo constante: en contraste con los 2.000 participantes del año 1958, al comenzar el siglo XXI cálculos serenos cifran una afluencia de 25.000 oferentes a la hora, durante las ocho que dura el ininterrumpido desfile, que depositanalrededor de siete millones de flores.
Traje regional: El origen de los trajes típicos hay que buscarlo en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX ,cuando se crearon unos tópicos que caracterizaban a los habitantes de las distintas regiones españolas y que se ha mantenido hasta hoy en día pero es en el periodo de la post guerra , en los años 40-50 cuando se configuran definitivamente los trajes típicos aprovechando los tópicos establecidos en el siglo XIX durante el régimen franquista y de la mano de la sección femenina, se potencia el uso y exhibición del traje regional llegando a crearse una topología oficial para cada zona de España. Fue especialmente a través de grupos de coros y danzas, pero el interés se limitaba a cubrir la necesidad de tener que bailar con un atuendo determinado.
Se estableció para gran parte de Aragón, el traje de labradora, en el que se agruparon las prendas mas lujosas convirtiéndolo en el atuendo para actos importantes o para ser llevados por las damas y las reinas de las fiestas. Progresivamente se tiende a la uniformización y simplificación de esos prototipos , imponiéndose rápidamente entre la población el traje de dama Aragonesa y el de labradora rica.
Los grupos folclóricos fueron transformando los trajes, para lograr la mayor comodidad posible a la hora de bailar. Por ello se eliminaron prendas que impedían la facilidad de movimientos como los refajos mantones o las chaquetas masculinas o los chalecos cruzados y abrochados. Y se acortaron las faldas.
Por su parte el llamado traje de dama Aragonesa es el contrapunto urbano y lujoso de los trajes de baturro, pues representa a una mujer de clase alta vestida de fiesta.
Este traje se configuro tal y como ahora se luce en Zaragoza, a raíz de la instauración en los años 60 de la ofrenda de flores a la Virgen del Pilar muchas Zaragozanas adoptaron el modelo de la reina y damas de las fiestas . Estas señoritas pertenecían a la elite social de la ciudad pero no siempre las prendas que lucían eran las correctas con lo que los errores cometidos por estas eran copiados por el resto de la población.
Dichos vestidos se usaron en Aragón , al igual que en toda Europa desde las ultimas décadas del siglo pasado hasta la actualidad deteriorándose incluso por las modas.
En conclusión el traje de dama es por un lado una deformación de dichos trajes de época y por otro una simplificación del que antes hemos definido como traje de labradora rica.

This was an experiment. We had a great sunset waiting for the lighting of the Fresnel Lens at Pigeon Point. I didn't want to lose my spot on the grounds, so my view was basically of a lighthouse, a sunset, and Jim Patterson's head. After I shot this, I figured I'd see how good my cloning skills were.
5 hours later, I was finished. Patterson, JavePhoto, Cripps, Diego, and Kendra were all lined up in front of the building here, so I basically ended up having to draw the building from the ground up. I decided to leave one dude in here for fun.
Even though this was a "C" image, I spent so long cloning those tuna's out that I wanted to keep a nice version of it. I saved it as a Master file, resized it for the web, added a border etc., closed it out, and promptly threw up.
I had accidentally hit "Save" instead of "Save As" with the new file name. In other words, the web size is now the only file I have of this. And I'm NOT going to put in another 6 hours of work to get rid of a Patterson.
I'd love to say this is the first time I've done this, but.....
You'd think I'd learn to rename the file before I resize, but I'm not terribly bright.
