While attending a conference about issues affecting Roma around Europe, diplomats from 11 U.S. embassies, representatives from international and Bulgarian-based organizations that deal with human rights and, more specifically, Roma issues, and friends expressed their support for the truth that Roma are equal.
Fort Buchanan, PR-An Equal Opportunity (EO) course was conducted from 18-23 Jun at the US Army Reserve headquarters. The EO program formulates, directs, and sustains a comprehensive effort to maximize human potential to ensure fair treatment for military personnel, family members, and civilians without regard to race, color, gender, religion, or national origin, and provide an environment free of unlawful discrimination and offensive behavior.
When value is the same throughout a color piece, theoretically if one were to take a black and white photograph making the color a null point, the piece would turn one entire shade of grey. The same concept applies to this work, which features 14 different colors of the same value. If you were to take a picture of mine, you would find it wasn't perfect, my blue and purple are a bit off!

While trekking in Rwanda to see the gorillas, I had the mixed experience of meeting this silverback. I say mixed because he equal parts amazed and terrified me. If you've never seen a gorilla then the latter emotion I describe can be easily summarize in the fact that this silverback's forearms are wider than my waist.
At one point, while looking down my lens at a mother and child pair, I heard a rustling of leaves directly adjacent to me and looked over and up. Two feet in front and a few feet above was this silverback starring directly down at me. Realizing I was breaking the one rule (don't make eye contact) I quickly looked down, put my hands low, and tried to look as submissive as possible. With my peripheral vision catching just the knuckles of the silverback, I saw it turn towards me and stop. Observing me, he thought for a few seconds before grabbing a nearby rock, roughly the size of a small car tire, and casually tossing it off the side of hill. Point made, he walked away, dominance proven beyond a hope of a doubt.
